Samsung Galaxy Watch5 battery health check feature rolls out in Canada

Samsung has now pushed the January 2023 firmware update for the Galaxy Watch5 and Watch5 Pro in Canada. It brings the phone’s Camera Controller feature to the Galaxy Watch5 devices, but, it is no longer working for now. The OEM is yet to rollout One UI 5.1 update, which brings support for Camera Controller.
According to the information, all the Galaxy devices launched after the Galaxy S20 series and Galaxy Z Flip would be eligible for the zoom feature through the Galaxy Watch’s Camera Controller app. Notably, the One UI 5.1 is scheduled to introduce on Feb. 1st, followed by rollout is expected in early March.

The Korean tech giant is already bringing zoom support to Galaxy Watch through the January 2023 update. As soon as your Galaxy phone receives the Android 13-based One UI 5.1 update, you will be allowed to zoom in the phone’s camera app by pinching in/out on the Watch’s screen.

Apart from this, the Samsung Members app will now show you a new “Connected device diagnostic.” Using this feature of the Members app, you will get to know about your paired Galaxy smartwatch’s battery status, touch function, etc.
Do note that you have to install the latest versions of the Samsung Members and Galaxy Wearable apps as well. This will ensure seamless experiences on your Galaxy Watch and connected smartphone. Lastly, it brings some under-the-hood enhancements for better usability.

2019’s Samsung Galaxy phone gets May 2023 update

Another smartphone from the Samsung Galaxy A series named Galaxy A50s has started receiving a new update that installs the latest Android security patch released in May 2023 to enhance overall device stability and performance.
Identified via One UI firmware version A507FNXXS7DWD1, the May 2023 update of Samsung Galaxy A50s comes with an installation package size of 172.36 MB. At, the moment, the update is rolling out in India. As it is an initial release, the company will expand its availability to more countries in the coming days.
Samsung’s May 2023 security patch fixes a bunch of vulnerabilities in Android and Samsung. There are over 70 common vulnerability exposures listed in the document that falls into different ranges. It mainly fixes issues related to Bootloader, App lock, Call Settings, and Telephony framework.
Launched back in 2019, the Galaxy A50s smartphone came pre-equipped with Android 9 Pie-based One UI 1.x. Moving forward, the company sent the Android 10-based One UI 2.1 update and Android 11-based One UI 3.1 to the device.

Samsung Smart Switch 3.7.43.10 update available for One UI devices

Samsung is pushing a new update for the Smart Switch Mobile app with version 3.7.43.10. This update further optimizes the stability of the app to deliver a better experience.
The latest Smart Switch app update fixes the common issues you faced in the previous version. Also, the fresh version improves the functions of the Smart Switch Mobile app to provide a smoother performance.
Aside from this, the update does not bring any new features or changes but you will surely get a better usability experience after updating. It is rolling out in batches and the latest version will expand gradually among consumers.
Samsung Smart Switch 3.7.43.10 update is available on Galaxy Store with an installation package size of 34.41 megabytes. Notably, the latest version is compatible with Galaxy devices running from Android 4 to Android 13.

Samsung drops another Galaxy S21 series software in May 2023

Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and Galaxy S21 Ultra smartphones have started getting another software update in May 2023. The series has already received the first May 2023 security patch in many countries and the company is still working to make it available to the remaining Galaxy S21 models.
The new update improves the system security and behavior to make your Galaxy S21 smartphone more secure. In addition, it also enhances stability and reliability to provide a bug-free and better performance. However, the update’s changelog does not contain any new features or changes.
The latest May 2023 software update for Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21 Plus, and Galaxy S21 Ultra phones can be identified via One UI build versions G991BXXU7EWE6, G996BXXU7EWE6, and G998BXXU7EWE6 respectively.
The update is currently rolling out in limited countries including Germany and UK. The South Korean tech giant will expand it to more countries in the upcoming days/weeks. It is an initial rollout so it may take some time to reach all Galaxy S21 models.
