Samsung to share Galaxy dedicated chip development status at S23 launch event

Samsung will launch its all-new flagship Galaxy S23 series smartphones at the Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled for February 1. At the same time, TM Roh, the President & Head of Samsung MX Business, will share the Galaxy dedicated chip development status.

Earlier it was rumored that Samsung’s smartphone division is working on its own flagship mobile chip for the premium Galaxy S series phones. Now as per a recent leak from tipster Ice Universe, we will get more information about this Exynos processor that the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event.

The tipster did not mention what kind of information we would get about the chipset. However, it is expected that Samsung MX Division CEO TM Roh may give fans a teaser about the high-end smartphone at the event.

Samsung chip development status

It’s worth mentioning that Samsung is creating this chipset for the 2025’S Galaxy S25 series phones. The company has already assembled a “Dream Team” for the project that is suggested to be built using Samsung Foundry’s second or third-generation 3nm GAA fabrication process.

Earlier information also claims that the Samsung Galaxy S25 series’ Exynos chipset will use a tri-cluster, nine-core CPU in a 4-4-1 configuration with four Cortex-X cores, four Cortex-A7xx cores, and one Cortex-A5xx core.

As of now, the company has decided not to bring the Exynos processor to its Galaxy S23 series due to its low performance compared to Snapdragon and the same could be the case with next year’s Galaxy S24.
