It’s been so long since Samsung introduced Qi wireless charging support for its devices and presently a large number of Galaxy mid-range and flagship phones have this feature. However, the company has not made much progress in terms of wireless charging speed. But now it seems like there will be major changes very soon as Apple’s MagSafe wireless charging is coming to the Samsung Galaxy phones.

At CES 2023, Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) officially announced a new wireless charging standard called Qi2. The most interesting part is that this Qi2 can officially bring Apple’s MagSafe wireless charging tech for Samsung and many other compatible Android devices.

It’s worth mentioning that presently, the company has not mentioned when its Android phones will start supporting the MagSafe wireless charging solution. However, we can expect it to arrive by the end of this year.

WPC states that “Qi2 will be the global standard for wireless charging and provide consumers and retailers with that assurance.”
