Apple could sideline Samsung for iPhone 15 display orders

Samsung is the biggest display panel supplier of Apple for all iPhone 14 series phones. Meanwhile, it might not be continued for the iPhone 15 series as Apple reportedly sidelined Samsung and China-based BOE secured the largest share of display panel orders.
According to Ming-Chi Kuo, BOE has defeated Samsung and secured the most significant order for iPhone 15 and 15 Plus display panels. As per the information, the Chinese panel maker will produce 70% of the total displays for iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, while the remaining 30% going to Samsung.

For the iPhone 14 series (including Plus & Pro), the South Korean tech giant has 70% of the display production share, while the remaining are being produced by BOE and LG Display. Currently, Apple is using BOE-made 6.1 display panels in the standard iPhone 14 models.

It’s worth mentioning that Samsung Display and LG Display will continue to supply OLED panels for the upcoming iPhone’s premium models. However, Apple could increase the orders share of BOE to 20-30 percent, which is another damaging move for Samsung.
