How to block personalized ads:
The best way to avoid ads on your Samsung Galaxy phone is to stop them before they start. To do so, head over to your phone’s “Settings” and visit the “Samsung Account” section and then its “Security and privacy” area.
At the last of this page, you will see a “Customization Service” option, tap on it in and then mark right on the “Use Customization Service” toggle. Finally, tap the “Agree” button and turn off the customization service.
For your information, the ‘Use Customization Service’ feature will enable personalized promotions on Samsung apps. This will not completely disable the ads but will prevent them from being personalized with your data. Also, it will reduce the number of ads on your Samsung device.
How to stop ads altogether:
Unfortunately, you probably can’t. However, you can reduce them as much as possible by following the steps:
Identify the app that is sending the pop up
In order to show ads, the app must be activated on your device. Open the “Google Play store” to see which apps were recently active. Now click on the line icon, go to Manage apps & device >> Installed >> Last used.
This should help you narrow it down, especially if it shows an app you haven’t used recently. Select one of the “recently used apps” and “uninstall” them until the pop-up ads stop.
Block ads via Google Chrome
Go to the “Google Chrome” app and tap on the 3 dots icon. Now select “Settings”, scroll down the page and select “Site Settings”. Next, tap on “Pop-ups and redirects”. Make sure this setting is turned off. Finally, select “Ads” and make sure this is turned off as well.
Block ads via Samsung Internet
Head over to the “Samsung Internet” app and visit the “More” menu. Select “Settings” and then “Sites and download”. Now toggle on “Block pop-ups”. Head back to the “Samsung Internet” menu and select “Ad Blockers”. Download a suggested ad blocker.
