Samsung needs to save its foldable dominance in 2023 as rivals arise
Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) recently published their analysis which reveals foldable smartphone market records for the past few quarters. In addition, the latest DSCC report suggests that Samsung Galaxy foldable lineup will be getting new rivals in the global market in 2023.
According to the information, in the third quarter of this year, foldable smartphone market recorded over 6 million units of shipments. No doubt, Samsung is the hero in global foldable market, and thanks to the recently released Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4.

Meanwhile, the current quarter is reportedly not going to be good for foldable phones as consumers in the US and other crucial regions prefer purchasing Apple’s new iPhone 14. However, the beginning of 2023 is likely to be better for foldable market (expected shipments 17 million) as new vendors will enter global market.

Besides, Ross Young pointed out that six different smartphone brands are expected to have at least a 3% share. And a total of 10 manufacturers including Samsung and 9 rivals are expected to ship foldable smartphone in 2023, which includes a new entrant from China.”
“While the foldable market stalled in Q4’22, due in part to being steamrolled by the iPhone 14 launch as well as the weak global economy, it is still very much a bright spot for the smartphone and display markets reaching new highs and gaining share,” said Ross Young.
The Galaxy Z Flip line is quite famous among consumers due to its compact yet stylish design. However, OPPO’s upcoming Find N2 Flip will be available in the global market with great specs on paper and a large cover display with a comparatively cheaper price tag, which is enough to attract general users.
In addition, Google is speedily working on its foldable smartphone, which features a tablet-like form factor when unfolded. Compared to Chinese brands, it’s quite easy to choose between Samsung and Google, hence, the latter will be a big alternative to the former.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra supremacy continues with its one-of-its-kind anti-reflective screen. Huawei Pura 70 Ultra was in the headlines following the launch but failed to impress when compared to Samsung’s Galaxy S24 Ultra among others.
IceUniverse posted a video showcasing the screen reflection on many flagships. The video displays the light reflection impact on the screens of OPPO Find X7 Ultra, Huawei Pura 70 Ultra, vivo X100 Pro, Xiaomi 14 Ultra, Galaxy S24 Ultra, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
Huawei Pura 70 Ultra brings an innovative camera tech, but the lack of an anti-reflective screen can’t be filled with it. Apple also lags behind Samsung in terms of the most stunning screen visibility, and this trend might not be ending anytime soon!
The embedded video showcases the flashlight reflection on panels of all the tested smartphones. Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro Max and Chinese flagships including Huawei Pura 70 Ultra failed to reduce the glare of the flashlight, which the S24 Ultra significantly declined.

Samsung silently listed Galaxy F15 5G’s 8GB RAM variant in India. The company previously released the device in 4GB and 6GB RAM options, featuring 128GB storage. The latest release brings a third option to the F15 5G, while the memory segment remains unchanged.
As for the 8GB F15 5G, Samsung authorized retailers to sell it for INR 15,999 (~$191 or €179). Utilizing the launch offer, consumers can avail of a discount of INR 1000 (as bank cashback or upgrade bonus). Key specs are mentioned at the bottom of the post.
When Samsung launched the Galaxy S24 with 8GB RAM, it was criticized by consumers globally. Since then, the company has been given regular chances to get mocked. The Galaxy M55 5G is available in up to 12GB RAM, beating the S24 flagship’s 8GB.
There may be differences in technology, but, the larger the RAM, the smoother the device performs. As the F15 5G is here with 8GB RAM, it matched the S24 flagships costing INR 80,000 in India. Well, we hope, the next-gen flagships should have at least 12GB RAM.
