Samsung officially stated that it has not adopted the weekend duty system in its semiconductor business. The company is required to officially clarify the working strategy due to a recently published report in Korea Economic Daily.

According to the official statement, the Korea Economic Daily’s report citing “Samsung Semiconductor will be closed for four days if it works on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays” is not true. Samsung newsroom post also cites that it didn’t pilot a dedicated weekend duty system or conduct a survey for the semiconductor business.
