Samsung OLED Smart TVs shipment to reach over 2 million units in 2024
Besides smartphones and smartwatches, Samsung has also gained much popularity in its Smart TV business these years. A new information reports that Samsung QD-OLED Smart TVs shipment could reach 2 million units in 2024, which is huge compared to the current record of the company.
Recently, The Elec has informed that Samsung QD-OLED smart TV shipments are expected to grow to 1.3 million units next year, which is 450,000 units in the present year. At the same time, the report also suggets that Samsung will continue to gain profit in the business as the shipments will reach more than 2 million units in 2024.

If QD-OLED TV shipments will reach 2 million units in the coming years, the volume will be similar to that of the Neo QLED, the top model in Samsung’s Smart TV series. In this case, the company’s current premium TV strategy, which puts Neo QLED at the top and QD-OLED at the bottom, may also be revised.

Lee Choong-hoon, CEO of UBI Research, a market research firm, said in an interview with The Electric – “Samsung Display raised its quantum dot (QD)-organic light emitting diode (OLED) production yield to 90% in about a year after mass production, and Samsung Electronics’ next year’s QD -We raised the forecast for OLED TV shipments from 1 million units to 1.3 million units.”
Samsung executive further reveals that the company is aiming to ship 3 million units of the ‘Neo QLED’ series, a mini LED TV, this year, but actual shipments are expected to be 2.5 million units. It is expected to ship 10,000 units.
This year, Samsung shipped 2.5 million units of Neo QLED TVs and 450,000 units of QD-OLED TVs, adding up to 2.95 million units of premium TVs. Here, the share of QD-OLED TVs is 15%.
Samsung has rolled out the updated 4G TDD band support firmware for Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy A35, and Galaxy A34 smartphones in Europe. The fresh update enhances the 4G TDD band support to better network connectively.
According to the changelog, the new firmware for Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy A35, and Galaxy A34 smartphones in Europe updates the Regional 4G TDD band support to deliver better network performance across various European countries.
It is important to note that Galaxy models purchased in Germany cannot receive signals in LTE TDD bands in several countries, including Belgium, Denmark, France, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic.
Moreover, the update also improves the security and stability of the device. It also fixes some issues for error-free services.

After Snapdragon models, Samsung has released an April 2024 security update for Exynos models of the Galaxy S21 FE smartphone in India. Users can identify the latest update through One UI build version G990EXXS8FXD1.
The fresh update improves system security and stability to enhance the overall performance. It protects against security threats by incorporating the latest security patches for Android. Also, it improves some functions to provide a better user experience.
Users of the Exynos Galaxy S21 FE smartphone in India will have to download a 248.39MB package to install the April 2024 security update. The update is based on One UI 6.0 and the company will soon release One UI 6.1 update for this smartphone.
To install the update, users should navigate to the Software Update section found within the device’s Settings. They can select ‘Download and install’ from there to initiate the update process.
