Samsung smartphones and tablets come with a separate Wallpaper and Style section that brings the latest and greatest wallpapers, themes, and icons to the users. The Korean company has impressively improved this Samsung Wallpaper and Style menu with One UI 5.0 software to offer more functions to the users.

In this article, we are going to compare the Wallpaper and Style sections of the previous and new One UI software – Android 12-based One UI 4.1 and Android 13-based One UI 5.0.

One UI 4.1 Wallpaper and Style:

One UI 4.1 Wallpaper and Style section is actually nice. It has different sections for each service and each of them clearly indicated what you can do with it. When you open this section, you will see your Lock Screen and Home Screen that you can edit with a tap. The rest of other sections are –

  • My wallpapers: When you tap on it, you will see the Featured wallpapers of your phone as well as the Downloaded ones.
  • Gallery: This section will add you choose and add any picture from your Gallery to the home screen or lock screen.
  • Lock screen wallpaper services: You can customize your lock screen wallpaper services here, such as Dynamic Lock screen and Samsung Global Goals.
  • Color Palette: You can choose an appropriate theme for your whole system user interface that matches your wallpaper.
  • Apply Dark mode to wallpapers: When you enable this feature, your phone’s wallpapers will automatically adjust according to the dark mode.
  • Explore more wallpapers: This section will lead you to the Galaxy Themes shore, where you can explore new wallpapers, themes, app icons, and AOD themes for free or paid.

One UI 5.0 Wallpaper and Style:

The Wallpaper and Style interface of One UI 5.0 has been significantly changed and it’s impressive. Instead of different compartments for My Wallpaper, Gallery, Lock screen wallpaper services, and Explore more wallpapers, you now get only one – “Browse my wallpapers“.

When you tap on it, you will see an eye-pleasing interface with different rooms for:

  • Featured: The wallpapers that come pre-installed with your Galaxy phone.
  • Gallery: You can choose any wallpaper or picture of you from the Gallery area.
  • Graphical: Graphical wallpapers offered by One UI 5.0 software.
  • Colors: Plane color or gradient wallpapers which are also provided by One UI 5.0.
  • Wallpaper services: This section will let you choose between two lock screen wallpaper services – Dynamic Lock screen or Samsung Global Goals and customize their settings.
  • Downloaded: These are the wallpapers that you have already downloaded through the Galaxy store on your phone.
  • Galaxy Themes: Here, you can explore more wallpapers, themes, app icons, and AOD wallpapers once you tap on this option.

Aside from the Browse my wallpaper area, there’s “Color Palette“. This color picker sampler now provides users with lots of wallpaper color combinations compared to One UI 4.1. Also, it has an option to completely disable Color Palette.

Lastly, this section contains “Apply Dark mode to Wallpapers” which will automatically customize your phone’s wallpaper as per the dark mode.

No doubt, Samsung has greatly improved the One UI 5.0 Wallpaper and Style section compared to the One UI 4.1’s. It is now more clear and provides you with more wallpapers services and access to all related functions with ease.
