Samsung to use China-made AMOLED display in Galaxy M54
Galaxy M53 is one of the successful mid-range Samsung smartphones that was launched this year. Now its successor Galaxy M54 is likely coming soon to the markets. In a recent development, a report revealed that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy M54 will feature a China-made AMOLED display.
The Galaxy M series phones are mostly sold online as budget devices in Southeast Asia. The company sells millions of units of these phones, still, the overall shipment is lower than the Galaxy A series phones that come in around the same prices.

Therefore, to reduce costs, Samsung has decided to use a Chinese AMOLED display on the upcoming Galaxy M54 smartphone. This display is made by BOE and CSOT, as per a report from TheElec. However, it can not be clarified whether Samsung Display will also develop the required OLED panels for the device.

Furthermore, this year, both Samsung and BOE developed and supplied OLED panels for the Galaxy M53 smartphone. A report says that the Korean company has used more panels from BOE on this device, compared to its own.
Moreover, Samsung is facing tough competition from Apple smartphones in the premium sector and from Chinese smartphone manufacturers in the mid-range sector. It used to ship over 300 million smartphones in 2-19 but these shipments have dropped in the past couple of years.
Samsung uses flexible OLED panels on its flagship phones and cheaper rigid OLED panels on lower-tier phones. Since the company’s smartphone shipments dropped over the years, its shipment of rigid OLED panels has reduced as well.
The company began using non-Samsung displays for OLED panels in 2020 when it first used CSOT in older Galaxy M series phones sold that year.
In October 2024, Samsung updated its Galaxy Enhance-X app, which brings the popular Camera Shift feature to more devices. This feature helps you take and edit full-body photos easily. If you own a compatible Samsung device, you can take advantage of the Camera Shift feature.
Camer Shift Feature
The Camera Shift feature lets you enhance your photos by focusing on specific subjects. It was initially available only on the Galaxy S24 series, but now it’s expanded to other models.
The latest update includes a simpler and user-friendly design. Instead of navigating through three separate menus, you can now access everything from a single menu.
With improved recognition capabilities, the Camera Shift feature can now better identify children, upper body shots, and group photos. You can also apply special effects to specific people in group images, giving you more creative control.
Moreover, the update also includes a Colorization feature that adds color to black and white images and a Motion Clipper feature to allow you to create GIFs from Motion Photos.

How to use One UI 6.1 Camera Shift feature on your Samsung Galaxy
