Going ahead, the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S20 and Note 20 series flagships have started to get the Stable Android 13 update on November 7. The gap between One UI 5’s availability for the latest S22 and older S20/Note 20 flagships is approx two weeks.

Apple and Google giving

On the other hand, Apple fits for the Update For All strategy as all the eligible iPhones receive every new software update on the same day across the world. The same goes for Pixel, Google also updates all eligible Pixel phones with new firmware update together.

Advantage for Apple and Google

iOS is an iPhone-exclusive software system, which is solely developed by Apple. As the iPhone maker itself develops and tests new firmware updates for iPhones and other devices, it makes it capable of releasing it for all. Similarly, Android is also under full control of Google, at least for Pixel smartphones.

What’s the difficulty

We know, Galaxy devices run the Android operating system and Samsung is entirely dependent on Google. The former OEM has no other choice than to wait until Google begins Android’s new update rollout for Pixel phones, however, the gap between Android and One UI debut can be lessened if Samsung joins Developer Preview party.

Samsung’s capable, we know!

Samsung is the global market leader in smartphones with the highest shipments with reach to almost every corner of the Earth. The company is well known for users’ data privacy and security which China can never offer with its mobile devices.

If Galaxy users want “update for all,” Samsung should consider their demand as there’s nothing impossible for the OEM. To do so, Samsung should work with Google and develop the new OS-based One UI skin for all kinds of Galaxies so it can be distributed as well.
