Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra reportedly uses a 12MP front camera

The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphone uses a 12MP front camera, it’s hard to believe, but, appears to be becoming reality as cited by TheElec. The company introduced a massive 40MP front camera with the Galaxy S20 Ultra, later followed by Galaxy S21 Ultra and Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Notably, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is going to become the first Samsung smartphone to be packed with a monstrous 200MP primary camera sensor. However, it turns out that the company is cutting the costs of this flagship by downgrading other aspects.

TheElec is known as a trusted source for Samsung news, as the biggest advantage is that it’s based in South Korea, the home ground of Samsung. As the blog revealed details of all Galaxy S23 Ultra camera sensors and suppliers, it also mentioned that the “front camera will be 12MP.”

In Samsung, megapixel counts don’t matter, but, no doubt, it’s a big marketing viewpoint. One more thing, the difference between speculated and rumored camera megapixel is too high (40MP > 12MP) and it will surely affect the imaging capability of the S23 Ultra if the report is correct.
12MP or 10MP?
The report claims that the Galaxy S23 Ultra uses a front camera of 12MP resolution. At the same time, with the suppliers’ information, it is mentioned that Namuga and Powerlogics are suppliers for the 10MP front camera. There are two different front camera res mentioned in the same report, which also ends up with confusion.
Quick Flashback: The Galaxy S10+ uses a dual front camera of 10MP and 8MP, S20 Ultra uses a 40MP 1/2.65-inch Quad-Bayer sensor, S21 Ultra uses a primary 40MP sensor with 0.7µm pixels and the S22 Ultra uses 40MP 1/2.82″ sensor.
What do you think about it, will Samsung introduce the Galaxy S23 Ultra with a 12MP or 10MP front camera? Let us know through social media.

The next flagship brings a flat frame design, a departure from the rounded edges seen in previous generations.
Compared to the S23, the upcoming S24 could be slightly taller and less wide, with dimensions approximately 147 x 70.5 x 7.6 mm. Besides, the inclusion of a UWB (Ultra-Wideband) Antenna on the right side of the device is a notable first for Samsung.
