Samsung Galaxy S23 ‘most likely’ to pack Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip widely!

Samsung is reportedly ditching the Exynos chipset from flagship lineups, starting with the Galaxy S23 series. The next Galaxy S23 series is most likely to use Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor worldwide, as Samsung prepares to introduce Exynos 2300 with mid-rangers.
According to TheElec sources, most of AP (application processors) installed in upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 will be Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. As Qualcomm is most likely to be the exclusive chipset supplier for the Galaxy S23 series, Samsung is reportedly producing next Exynos with “two-track strategy – 4nm and 5nm.”

It’s reported that the 4nm process tech-based Exynos 2200 failed to solve problems such as yield as well as power consumption, performance, and heat to a satisfactory level. In this regard, the company is reportedly producing the next Exynos with 5nm instead of 4nm due to yield (performance) problems.

As Exynos 2300 could be debuting with mid-range Samsung devices, there is no choice remains. Meanwhile, in order to show a big difference in terms of performance, Samsung MX division decided to use Snapdragon as the main AP for the next flagship smartphone.
So far, Samsung’s MX division has been utilizing Exynos and Snapdragon in parallel depending on the market. In particular, even if the foldable phone does not include Exynos, the Galaxy S series has been packed with Exynos, along with the Snapdragon.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra taking long time in 200MP camera mode [Video]

Samsung’s Galaxy S23 Ultra brings a serious camera upgrade over its predecessor. Replacing the 108MP primary sensor, the Galaxy S23 Ultra features a 200MP ISOCELL HP2 image sensor with next-gen technologies such as tetra2pixel for enhanced photography.
Yesterday, the company officially introduced the Galaxy S23 series, and the devices are now available for reviewers and authorized retailers. In a recent development, the YouTube channel Tip3X posted a video showcasing the Galaxy S23 Ultra camera test in 200MP resolution.

As you can see in the test video below, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is taking a long time in capturing the shot in 200MP mode. Not that all, when previewed, the image continues to process and takes a long delay to finalize the shot to be viewed by the user.
ISP update should bring improvements
Samsung’s new Galaxy S23 Ultra boasts a new 200MP Adaptive Pixel sensor that captures epic moments with incredible precision. The HP2 camera sensor uses pixel binning to support multiple levels of high-resolution processing at once.
200MP camera shot reportedly occupies 30MB-35MB storage space, which could also be a factor behind delayed processing. Still, the Galaxy S23 Ultra uses Samsung’s own-developed 200MP ISOCELL HP2 camera, which is refined well with the software system.
Reliable tipster earlier revealed that Samsung will release a major firmware update for the Galaxy S23 Ultra as part of improving the ISP function. Since the update would be focussing on the image signal processor, we expect, the camera performance and shutter delay should be normalized.
