YouTube Music introduces five new mood filters to enhance your listening experience

YouTube Music has added five new mood filters to its “activity bar”, which was introduced in 2020. The new filters are Cry, Party, Romance, Feel good, and Sleep. These filters join the existing filters of Commute, Energize, Focus, Relax, Workout, and Podcasts. Each filter shows personalized and curated playlists based on the user’s mood and preferences.
The new filters are not yet available for everyone, but they are rolling out gradually on mobile and web. These filters increase the number of options on the top carousel to eleven, which may affect the user interface. However, YouTube also has many filters that change the content of the Home feed.
The new filters reflect the diversity of music tastes and emotions that YouTube Music aims to provide. They also offer some interesting choices, such as Cry for sad songs and Sleep for relaxing tunes. The last filter added before these was Energize in 2021.
Decade long support: Google announces 10 years of updates for Chromebooks

Google is extending Chromebook updates from 8 to 10 years. This change will be applicable to Chromebooks released from 2021 onwards. This Auto Update Expiration (AUE) extension aims to provide users with a longer and more secure usage period for their devices, surpassing the support offered by most other operating systems.
Moreover, ChromeOS is introducing adaptive charging, maintaining the battery at 80% to prevent degradation and enhance battery longevity. Users can toggle this feature in the Settings >> Device >> Power menu. Additionally, a “Charge limit” preference will reduce the maximum capacity as the battery ages.
Furthermore, Google is also bringing an “Energy saver” mode to conserve battery life by disabling energy-intensive processes. This mode can be manually activated in settings or automatically engaged at low battery levels.
These features will roll out in the coming months to most compatible platforms, enhancing Chromebook user experiences through longer-lasting devices.
