It’s Verizon day! Various Samsung devices getting October 2022 update in the US
Verizon is releasing fresh October 2022 software update for a number of Samsung devices including phones and tablets in the US. Some devices are receiving major Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1, while some are getting regular security patches dated October or September 2022.

Verizon released the October 2022 security patch update for the Galaxy Z Fold 2 5G foldable smartphone in the US. Other than the latest security patches, there is nothing mentioned in the changelog shared by the network carrier.

Unlike the FE variants, the parent Galaxy S20 lineup is weirdly getting the September 2022 security patches. We don’t know why Verizon is releasing an older security patch, while the October 2022 patch is already available for International variants.

Samsung launched the Galaxy A71 smartphone over 2 years ago, which is now acquiring a new firmware update with fixes for the issues related to receiving text messages in some cases. Talking about the security patch level, it is August 2022, 2 month old patch.

Samsung has finally begun rolling out the October 2023 security update for Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 smartphones. These fifth-generation foldables are the first ones to get the latest patch.
October 2023 security update for Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5 smartphones can be identified through One UI builds versions F731USQS1AWI3 and F946USQS1AWI3 respectively. The update is currently available for locked models on the Verizon network in the US.
The company will soon expand this update to more Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Fold 5 models. Other Galaxy smartphones and tablets are also expected to receive the October 2023 security update in the following days or weeks.
