New Google Weather app available for Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and 4 series (Wear OS 3)

Google is launching its first smartwatch – Pixel Watch today, while the entire Wear OS ecosystem getting fruitful changes and updates. Google has now listed a new Weather app on the Play Store for all smartwatches running Wear OS 3+, including the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 4 lineup.

The new Google Weather app features a simple feed layout along with following the latest Material guidance for Wear OS. Through the app, you can see the weather of your current location with the city noted at the top under a curved time, reports 9to5Google.

In the user interface, you will get temperature and condition numbers with up and down icons on the left and right sides. Meanwhile, the “Current UV index” is noted in a pill-shaped container, which is color-coded, while any precipitation appears next.

Apart from this, the Weather app showcases a forecast for the “Next 8 hours” and “Next 5 days.” And you can use the bottom area to refresh the app with new data, change units, and get info directly from weather.com, similar to the Android app, widgets, Google Search and Smart Displays.

Post initial installation of the app, you will be required to grant the Weather app the “Allow all the time” Location permission. While it’s just a basic addition to the Wear OS capabilities, it will surely benefit users by providing them with a few more stats (like AQI), as well as multicity support.
