Samsung Galaxy A53 is one of the best smartphones of this year that comes with flagship-grade features at a mid-range price tag. But it looks like Samsung has something else planned for its successor Galaxy A54 as it will reportedly come with a camera downgrade.

Our folks over at GalaxyClub have recently informed that the upcoming smartphone will come with a primary camera with a lower megapixel count compared to the predecessor Galaxy A53. According to the report, Samsung Galaxy A54 will feature a 50MP primary camera, which is a significant downgrade from Galaxy A53’s 64MP primary camera.

While the information suggests a downgrade in terms of megapixel count, it doesn’t mean that the device will face a drop in features and functions as well. The exact details about the lens are not available at the moment, nor do we know which sensor is involved here.

However, one this is for sure Galaxy A54’s 50MP camera will not be the same as the one used in flagship Galaxy S22 or Galaxy S22+ smartphones this year. It will relate to the mid-range 50MP camera sensor that Samsung uses on its recent mid-range smartphones.

Besides these, earlier it was reported that the company is planning to remove depth sensing camera sensors from its mid-range phones and the Galaxy A54 will be one of them. The Galaxy A53 and Galaxy A52 have quad cameras but the upcoming Galaxy A54 will only equip three rear cameras.

Previous reports also say that this device will sport a 5MP ultrawide, and a 5MP macro camera along with a 50MP primary camera. With this move, Samsung is suggested to focus on the remaining cameras and reduce the cost associated with the depth camera.

We might get more information on this matter soon and we’ll make sure to update you with it.
