Samsung’s Galaxy Wearable is an application that connects your Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Buds to your smartphone so that you can manage and monitor your wearable device through your phone. However, many Galaxy wearable app users are facing connectivity problems after installing One UI 5.0 Beta builds.

Android 13 is now official for Pixel and some other brands’ smartphones. But Samsung is still running the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 Beta program for eligible Galaxy device owners. This upgrade brings a handful of new features and improvements over the previous version but such issues are highly affecting users’ experience.

In the recent few days, various Samsung Galaxy Wearable app customers have reached the Samsung Members community to report that the application is not working properly. According to the reports, users are not able to connect their wearable devices to their phones as the connections and disconnections are being repeated over and over again.

Galaxy Wearable connectivity One UI 5.0 Beta

Once disconnected and try to connect it again, it works normally for some seconds. But later an error occurs that says the wearable cannot be connected. Well, this issue is arising in both Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Buds for their respective users.

It is worth mentioning that the Galaxy Wearable connectivity issue is appearing after switching to the One UI 5.0 Beta version on either Galaxy S22, Galaxy S21, Galaxy S20, or Galaxy A52 devices. And, the reason behind this is not clear yet.

On the other hand, the Samsung community’s beta operation manager has responded to users’ concerns. But he did not mention the reason due to which this problem is happening nor he has told how it can be fixed or when it will be fixed.

Well, this is not the first problem that One UI 5.0 beta testers are reporting, earlier users also told about many other problems such as home crashing, bad animation, object eraser not working, screen blackening, and more.

Moving on, Samsung’s Android 13-based One UI 5.0 builds are currently in the beta phase, which means there is no guarantee for its stability so you can not blame the manufacturers for such issues. The company is continuously working on improving the One UI software and as it has resolved many old One UI issues, it will continue to do so.

It is possible that Samsung will bring a fix for this issue in the next beta or stable One UI 5.0 update. The problem seems annoying for the users but customers might have to compromise with the Galaxy Wearable app features and functions until the next One UI 5.0 builds will release.

Furthermore, currently, there’s no plan for Samsung’s next step. Meanwhile, the stable One UI 5.0 will unveil at Samsung Developer Conference which will happen on October 12. Possibly, the company could also start the stable version rollout on the same day, at least for Galaxy S22 series phones.

And, it is expected that the Korean company will solve all the major and minor issues that users are currently facing on the beta builds through the stable release. In addition, it will further introduce new features and enhancements to the devices.

Update 2: Oct. 08

Samsung seeded the fourth One UI 5.0 Beta update for the Galaxy S22 series devices. The changelog didn’t specifically mention bug fixes for Galaxy Watch connectivity issues and Galaxy Wearable app crashing. As result, consumers are still facing connectivity issue with Galaxy smartwatches.

Apart from Galaxy Watch series device users, the Gear S3 also reportedly has the same connectivity issues. The beta operation manager recommended users send an error log, which suggests that the company will fix this issue with the next Beta build.

Galaxy fans and tech enthusiasts are waiting for the launch of the next generation of foldable phones. On the other side, the consumers of Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 are facing severe issues while opening the display of their foldable phone, and this is annoying them a lot.

As per the information, some users of fourth-generation foldable phones are having trouble opening their device’s display. The report says, the display of the Galaxy Z Fold 4 smartphone isn’t opening fully and it even leads to a screen break when tried for some.

Some users stated that the display of their foldable device didn’t open after playing a game for a few minutes at full brightness. While another user says, his phone’s hinge was suddenly faulty after leaving it next to a hot tub. Hence, the reason behind this could be excessive heat.

Moving on, the blockage appeared to be comprised of the same bristles and tape that fit the brushes that line the hinge. These brushes have been a part of the hinge design and their purpose is to clear out dirt and debris from the hinge. The report also indicates the glue that holds these brushes in place is starting to diminish.

However, Samsung finally acknowledged the Galaxy Z Fold 4 display not opening properly issues and suggested customers to contact their local Customer Service representative. Below you can read Samsung’s official statement.

S Pen smells like burnt plastic, Galaxy S24 Ultra users concerned

Following the Note series, Samsung launched the Galaxy S22 Ultra with an S-Pen, which has been maintained up to the S24 Ultra and is expected to continue in subsequent models. Owners of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra have encountered an unexpected issue with their S Pen stylus that is it smells like burnt plastic. This concern has been discussed by users on Reddit and addressed in the Samsung Community forums.

Samsung is already aware of these concerns and the community moderator explained that the smell is due to the S Pen’s storage location near the phone’s internal components, which generate heat during use. This heat can cause the S Pen’s plastic to warm up and emit a smell, which is unusual but not harmful.

Furthermore, the moderator assured users that this is normal and will fade as the device cools. He compared it to the temporary smell in a car that has been parked in the sun.

This concern is not exclusive to the S24 Ultra, as it was also reported with the Galaxy S22 Ultra. If you notice a burnt smell from your S-Pen, it is a known and expected behavior, not a cause of concern.

‘This isn’t anything to be concerned about. While the S Pen is in its holster, it is close to the internal components of the phone, which will generate heat while in use, and cause the plastic to heat up. This can smell like burning, but it is similar to the smell you might experience after leaving your car in the sun for a few hours. The seats and plastic fittings in the vehicle might smell hot, but this will diminish after it cools,’ said Moderator.

Samsung to fix LockStar app’s clock overlap bug in a future update

Samsung users have been facing a lock screen clock overlap bug on the LockStar Good Lock module, which causes the clock display to overlap when the screen turns off. Samsung has acknowledged this issue, and a firmware update is in the works to resolve it.

A Samsung community moderator has apologized for the inconvenience caused by the LockStar bug and assured that a software update to fix the clock overlap is coming. However, the exact timing of this update is not confirmed yet due to some reasons.

As a temporary solution, users are advised to reboot their devices if they encounter the clock overlap. If the issue persists, it is recommended to disable LockStar until the software update is available.
