Google always keeps its Wear OS smartwatch users updated with the latest features and functions. As the company replaced the Google Pay app with Google Wallet for smartphones, it did the same for Wear OS running smartwatches. However, Wear OS device owners have started encountering the issue that the Google Wallet double-click shortcut is not working, fortunately, it is now fixed.
A couple of months ago, Google released a new update to the Wear OS Google Pay app, which replaced the app with the Wallet app and made it available to more Wear OS-based smartwatch users. Undoubtedly, the change brought a lot of functionalities to the devices but carried the double-click shortcut issue as well.
Since the wearable app is meant for quickly making payments with credit and debit cards, the issue has troubled a lot of Galaxy Watch and other Wear OS-running smartwatch users as they were not able to take full advantage of their devices.
Meanwhile, recently, Google started rolling out a new Wear OS app update through the Play Store that fixes the Google Wallet double-click shortcut problem. Many customers have noticed that the shortcut has again started functioning after installing the latest version.
It is worth mentioning that the Fossil Gen 5 and TicWatch owners have reported that this fix is coming with version 18.104.22.1681251175. If you are also facing such a problem with your smartwatch, make sure to upgrade to the latest version and get a seamless payment experience through your wrist.
Wear OS Google Wallet:
Google officially declared that it has big plans for the Wear OS Wallet app and these will be released by the end of this year. There are changes that the company could bring some Android smartphone Wallet app features to smartwatches as well.
