What do you think about Dynamic Island on Samsung?

Samsung debuted its second generation under-display camera technology with the Galaxy Z Fold 4 foldable device in August 2022. Later on, Apple debuted the iPhone 14 series with the biggest change in the history of Android by shipping Pro models without notch.

Apple ditched the traditional notch from iPhone 14 Pro models, but it didn’t adapt the punch hole or under-display camera technology. As always, it copied the pill-shape cutout that arrived with the Galaxy S10 5G back in 2019, and later Samsung introduced the Infinity-O display with a negligible amount of display area reduction.

What do you think about Dynamic Island on Samsung?

As the South Korean tech giant reached the second generation of its under-display camera technology, we don’t think it will bring back the pill shape display in future Galaxies. However, possibilities are high that the 2024’s Galaxy S line may feature under-display camera technology.

The most recent flagships including the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S21, Galaxy Note 20, and Galaxy S20 series feature the Infinity-O (punch hole) display. Using the software, Samsung can create and bring better Dynamic Island functionality to the Galaxy devices, but, would you like it?

Earlier we covered the Dynamic Island concept on the Galaxy S22 Ultra, while, developers copied Apple’s feature and offering it for free through MIUI themes and Play Store apps such as dynamicSpot. We are eager to hear your thoughts about Dynamic Island on Samsung devices through SammyFans.com’s social media.

Dynamic Island

Like a patch to a flaw, Apple introduced the Dynamic Island feature that showcases a handful of icons and controls around the camera and sensor hole. Using the software, the company managed to indirectly hide the pill shape cutout from the display of iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The Dynamic Island feature lets users access Now Playing controls, timers, and more on their iPhone 14 Pro or 14 Pro Max. For example, when media is playing, you can touch and hold the activity in the Dynamic Island to access the Now Playing controls.

Moreover, you can open Control Center and start a timer, which will show you two activities in Dynamic Island, see it by touching and holding the timer. In addition, you can tap an activity in Dynamic Island to go back to the app and that’s how you navigate with it!

Is it a welcome move?

Not at all, Apple fans were expecting that the company may directly jump to the under-display camera technology from the camera notch. However, it adopted the pill-shape display, while there’s nothing new in the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus models, even the Bionic chip.

This August, Samsung launched the 4th generation of foldable smartphones, while Apple seems to have no plans for a foldable iPhone so far. Last year, Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold 3 with under-display camera technology, which got advancements with the Galaxy Z Fold 4 debut.
