Samsung is currently running the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 Beta testing program for the Galaxy S22 series devices. At the same time, the company has now started the rollout of the September 2022 security patch for the Galaxy S22 models not joined Beta activity in India.

The new September 2022 patch brings fixes for 21 high levels, and 3 moderate levels of CVEs. Furthermore, there is no critical level of CVE mentioned on the list by the company, while, it has already fixed 2 CVEs with previous updates and 4 aren’t applicable.

Just recently, Samsung resumed the September 2022 security update rollout for the Galaxy S22 series devices and expanded it to several markets including the US for unlocked models. Now, Samsung started rolling out September 2022 patch update for the Galaxy S22 series locked on T-Mobile, Comcast and Xfinity Mobile.

Update 2: Resumed and expanding

Samsung has again started the September 2022 Android security patch rollout for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus and Galaxy S22 Ultra phones in various regions and markets including the United States.

  • AVHL – Unlocked: AT&T, Bluegrass Cellular, Comcast, and Xfinity Mobile.
  • AVHD: Afghanistan, Egypt, Iraq, Israel, Kenya, Lebanon, Morocco, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Tunisia, Turkey, and the UAE.

According to a report, Samsung pulled the September 2022 security update for the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus smartphone users in Europe. The build which ends with version AVHD is not available on Samsung’s servers, while the AVI3 still releasing, as reported by SamMobile.

The Galaxy S22 series users are testing the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 Beta in seven eligible countries including Germany. Meanwhile, Samsung is now rolling out the September 2022 security update to the Galaxy S22 series devices not running Android 13 Beta firmware.

Samsung’s September 2022 security update comes with a regular package size of approx 225MB for the Galaxy S22 devices. In addition to system security improvements, the September OTA updates Samsung Health, SmartThings, Members, Wallet, Smart Switch and more apps to newer versions.

Yesterday, Samsung shared the September 2022 patch details, revealing all the CVEs and SVEs included in the latest security update for Galaxy phones and tablets. The update is only rolling out to Galaxy S22 series users waiting for the Stable Android 13-based One UI 5.0, while the version numbers are as follows:

  • S901BXXU2AVI3 – Galaxy S22 5G
  • S906BXXU2AVI3 – Galaxy S22 Plus 5G
  • S908BXXU2AVI3 – Galaxy S22 Ultra 5G

After unlocked models, Samsung has started releasing the April 2024 security update for carrier-locked variants of Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra smartphones in the US. The update is live on Comcast, T-Mobile, and Xfinity Mobile network carriers.

Samsung promises to fix Quick Panel issue in next One UI 6.1 update

Samsung has acknowledged the Quick Panel issue in its latest One UI 6.1 update that is affecting users. The issue unexpectedly activates the quick panel when users interact with notifications or try to access detailed views. This problem has been a cause of inconvenience for many Galaxy users.

Samsung has pushed an April 2024 security update for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphones in Korea. This update enhances system security and stability as well as adds new features for a better user experience.

April 2024 security update for the Galaxy S22 series in Korea brings Mobile ID support for the Samsung Wallet app. Through this update, users can save and use their government-issued mobile driver’s license and national veterans registration card on their phones.

However, only IC cards with a mobile ID icon can be added. Users can use it anywhere just like your real ID. In addition, the update also applies the Google security patch to enhance the performance

Users will have to download a 420MB package to install the update. To install the update, need to navigate to Settings >> Software Updates >> Download and install.
