Samsung details Android 12L, One UI 4.1.1 features and eligible devices

Today, Samsung officially launched the Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1 software update for the Galaxy Tab S8 series tablets, detailed productive features and eligible devices.

According to Samsung, the Galaxy Tab S8 series, Tab S7 series, Tab S7 FE, Tab S6 series, Tab S6 Lite and Tab Active 3 tablets are eligible to receive the One UI 4.1.1 features with new Android 12L update.

In addition to confirming eligible devices, the South Korean tech giant detailed new Android 12L features that are coming to qualified Galaxy tablets with the One UI 4.1.1 version update in near future.

Taskbar

The Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1 update brings Taskbar feature to the Galaxy tablets, which has been added at the bottom of the screen, making the tablet’s UI more intuitive and user-friendly than ever before.

Using the new Taskbar feature, Galaxy Tab S8 and other tablet owners can enjoy swifter, more intuitive app switching, more customizable layouts, frictionless multitasking and apps that render better than ever.

    • Open App pair (up to three apps at once) > Tap the three dots in the border between the apps > Click the star-shaped Favorite symbol > Add the app pair to taskbar

Split Screen View

Now, the Split Screen View feature also supports up to three screens, the taskbar can be temporarily hidden for a more immersive screen view, notifications can be dragged straight into the split screen and all apps can be viewed in a grid-style layout.

    • Go to Settings > Advanced Features > Labs > Click on “Swipe for split screen” to turn on the feature

Pop-overs

Android 12 update ensures that you can peek right through your pop-overs by touching and holding the screen around them. Doing this will turn pop-overs temporarily transparent so that you can see the rest of the app behind them.

They reappear as soon as you lift your finger. Through simple touch and hold, this seamless flow lets you see the big picture when it comes to making new plans and also works with Clock and Reminder apps.

    • Open your Samsung Calendar/Clock/Reminder > Plan a new event in a pop-over > Touch and hold the screen outside the pop-over to peek through
