How to restore deleted photos from WhatsApp Backup | Tips and Tricks

Published

on

The majority of smartphone users use WhatsApp regularly for chatting, file sharing, and many more purposes. Deleted images on WhatsApp can be recovered in a variety of methods, but today we’ll learn how to restore deleted photos from a WhatsApp backup.

What if no one has a copy of your deleted image? In such case, using a backup is the best option to restore WhatsApp photographs. Backups are supported by WhatsApp on both Android and iOS, and they are stored to Google Drive and iCloud, respectively. If only a short period of time has passed, you can restore data from a backup.

Before deleting the data or photographs, you must have the Chat Backup setting enabled in order to use this approach. You cannot recover deleted photographs and chats from a WhatsApp backup if the option is not activated. So let’s start the process by going to Settings, Chats, and selecting Chat Backup.

Here, you’ll find details such as the most recent backup date and the frequency of your data backup schedule. If you have deleted pictures since the last backup, you can quickly recover your images and chats by uninstalling and reinstalling WhatsApp in order to restore the backup. Simply remove the application from your smartphone, then download WhatsApp again from the Store (App store or Play Store).

You must next authenticate your phone number before being given the option to restore your data from a backup, if one exists. By choosing this, WhatsApp will bring back all of your messages to their previous state at the time of backup. But keep in mind that any WhatsApp conversations you have exchanged since your previous backup will be lost.

In other words, before you restore the old backup to get your images back, make sure you have saved those data somewhere or that you can also capture screenshots of your essential messages. If another backup was performed after the photos were erased, there is no way to restore them.

WhatsApp Android Screen Sharing

Today, WhatsApp introduced the Screen Sharing feature in its Android Beta activity. Some lucky users have received this new function after updating the Android app to version 2.23.11.19 through Google Play Store.

WhatsApp has reportedly added a new button within the video call control panel. Once enabled, you will be prompted to share your screen with the person connected on the call.

This feature will record and share everything displayed on your screen with the recipient. However, the feature may not work perfectly now as the recipient’s WhatsApp may not be on the latest build of Beta.

In addition, users may notice some minor changes regarding the new bottom navigation bar elements’ arrangement after updating to WhatsApp Beta for Android 2.23.11.19.

Following a successful Beta run, WhatsApp will roll out the new screen-sharing feature and the new placement for tabs within the bottom navigation bar to more users over the coming weeks.

The Meta-owned company officially announced the availability of this feature on all accounts. You now get up to 15 minutes after sending a message to edit it so you don’t have to worry if you did any silly typo.

How to use WhatsApp Message Editing:

The feature works on any chat window (personal/group). All you need to edit the message is open the chat you want to edit the message from. Tap and hold on to the single message and hit the hamburger (three vertical dots) menu.

It will expand the option where the second will let you edit the message. However, keep in mind that this editing tool only allows you to edit message until 15 minutes after sending, and you can edit multiple times within the duration.

WhatsApp has recently introduced its Wear OS application, making it possible to chat through the wrist. Moreover, the company is continuously testing new features to stay rock solid against the rapidly growing Telegram.

WhatsApp for Android is testing the iOS-like bottom navigation bar on the Beta channel. As spotted by WABetaInfo, the latest v2.23.11.6 build brings a refreshed home screen appears to the messenger, adopting the iPhone-like navigation bar at the bottom.

As the tab options shift to the bottom, the app ditches the ability to switch across tabs with swipe gestures. There are uncertainties about whether the developers will continue to test the new user interface or stop it from hearing negative feedback from the users.

This redesigned interface with a bottom navigation bar is gradually rolling out to more beta testers that install the latest version of WhatsApp beta for Android from the Google Play Store. If WhatsApp continues, the new design will appear on more accounts in the coming days.
