[Update: Resolved] Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 cover display is faulty and showing green lines

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 Green Lines

Samsung has started to deliver pre-ordered Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 flagships starting today. Consumers are so happy as the devices are now reaching their doorsteps, while, we just spotted that there are two green lines that appeared on the Galaxy Z Fold 4 cover display, raising questions on the manufacturing process of Samsung.

Concept creator HoiINDI shared his concern through a Twitter post, posting the faulty cover display of the Galaxy Z Fold 4, which is showing two green parallel lines. He spotted the issue while setting up the device as the posted video showcases the first impression of the initial setup interface.

As per his claim, Samsung has refused the replacement of the recently delivered Galaxy Z Fold 4, therefore, he managed to warn users for a recheck of the cover display issue. At the time of writing, Samsung remained silent on the matter, while the thread is now getting more user reports for the same issue as no one wants an issue-packed flagship that costs $1799.

You can check the video and screenshots in HoiINDI’s Twitter post below:

As the screenshots are clearly hinting at a manufacturing defect on the Galaxy Z Fold 4’s cover display, Samsung should hear the concern of the consumer and proceed with a replacement as soon as possible.

As of now, the fault is spotted by just one buyer, but the graph might increase seeing the Twitter post, and will surely make a bad impact on the sales.

Green lines on Galaxy, are not a new thing:

Several Samsung phones reported having green tint or green line issues on display. While the Galaxy S20 models are affected with a green tint, the S10 FE had ghost touches. The company claimed that it had fixed defects like green tints or lines through software updates, but, the reality isn’t the same.

Well, Samsung won’t leave its consumers for providing after-sales support. Possibly, the company may have been facing supply issues due to massive numbers of pre-orders. The support is recommending buyers visit nearby service centers, making consumers angry about the service.

Update:

HoiINDI confirmed that Samsung has resolved the issue and promised for refund after some necessary procedures.

Most of the time, James tries to learn about new technologies and gadgets but he also sneaks a bit of free time to nearby rivers and nature.

Google Messages adds waveforms to Voice Recorder UI

Google Messages app Voice recorder ui

Google Messages is getting a new look for its voice recorder UI. The microphone icon in the text field will change to a waveform icon, which is different from the voice typing button in Gboard.

Instead of holding down the mic to record, you will now see a panel with a start/stop button and options to cancel, delete, or attach the recording. You will also see a waveform and a timer while recording, and you can play back the recording before sending it.

The voice messages preview will also show a waveform between the play/pause button and the timer, making it more noticeable than the current straight line.

These changes are not widely available yet, but some users have reported seeing them on their phones. These new changes are part of a bigger redesign that Google is working on for Messages, which includes a revamped home screen that is still in beta testing. Google might announce new features soon.
