Samsung’s Galaxy S20 FE smartphone users in the U.S. can now download and install the new October 2022 security update. The new firmware bears version number G781U1UEU9EVI8 and is available for carrier-unlocked devices in the US.

October 2022 Android patches bring fixes for different kinds of vulnerabilities and exposures including 1 critical, 29 high, and 2 moderate levels of CVEs, while, 8 CVEs were already included in previous updates, and 11 are not applicable to Galaxy devices.

 

October 13 – 2nd October 2022 patch – India

Samsung started to kick off the 2nd October 2022 firmware update for the Galaxy S20 FE 5G smartphone users in India. Similar to the earlier update, the new one brings systems security improvements with the latest patches and a handful of newer app versions.

The Galaxy S20 FE 5G is Samsung’s flagship killer smartphone, which comes with several flagship-grade capabilities at comparatively lesser pricing. Launched back in September 2020, the S20 FE came pre-installed with One UI 2.5 on top of the Android 10 operating system.

Later on, the Korean tech giant confirmed its software update support which includes three major OS upgrades and four years of regular security patches. When it comes to security updates, the Galaxy S20 FE is eligible to get updated to newer Android patches every month.

Samsung has now released the October 2022 Android security update for the Galaxy S20 FE 4G devices, powered by Snapdragon chipset. The update is currently available in Australia, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines, while, the build version is G780GXXU3CVI4.

 

August 26 – 2nd August October 2022 patch – Brazil

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE users are grabbing another August 2022 security update in Brazil. After installing the previous update, users are facing some issues.

With this new update, the company brings bug fixes and stability enhancement. In addition, Samsung Members, Calculator, and Voice recorder are also updated. You can identify the latest update via version G780GXXU3CVH3.

August 2022 security patch – “Germany“

Samsung started bringing the August 2022 security update to the Galaxy S20 FE smartphone users in Germany.

The new security patch offers fixes for around 3 dozen of CVEs from Google and the same from Samsung for better system security.

In addition, there are new versions included for various Samsung stock apps including Wearable, Global Goals, Kids, Notes, Internet, Health and Smartthings.

Samsung July 2022 Android security patch update has begun reaching the Galaxy S20 FE LTE smartphone users in Brazil. This update fixes multiple privacy and security-related issues and exploits.

Samsung is expanding the May 2022 Android security patch update for the Galaxy S20 FE LTE users in India. It comes with improved system security and stability alongside fixing various bugs and viruses.

The Galaxy S20 FE 5G handsets have reportedly started grabbing the new One UI 4.1 update in select European markets including Switzerland.

One UI 4.1 is based on Android 12, which brings additional features to the Galaxy devices including a better Colour Palette, customizable RAM Plus and more.

Following the Android 12 update rollout, Verizon has now started rolling out a major firmware update to the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE smartphones in the US.

Following the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung is rolling out a new firmware update with enhanced LTE band support for the Galaxy S23 series in Europe. It is a region-specific update and aims to improve the network for a better user experience.

Users of Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphones are getting the second April 2024 update in Europe with One UI build version S911BXXU3CXD3, S916BXXU3CXD3, and S918BXXU3CXD3 respectively.

WHAT’S NEW 

The new firmware of the Samsung Galaxy S23 in Europe updates the Regional LTE TDD band support to provide better network performance across various European countries.

Notably, there’s a limitation for German users. Galaxy S24 models bought in Germany will not support LTE TDD band signals in certain countries, including Belgium, Denmark, France, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic.

Users can check new software updates manually with a handful of simple steps. Firstly, visit your Galaxy device’s “System Settings,” once done, scroll down and tap the “Software update” tab, followed by the “Download and install” button.

Samsung has rolled out the first software update for the Galaxy F15 5G smartphone, which installs the latest Android security patch released in April 2024. It improves system security by stability by fixing over 40 issues to provide an enhanced experience.

Users can recognize the first software update of the Samsung Galaxy F15 through the One UI build versions E156BXXS1AXD3 and an installation package of 258.39MB. The update is rolling out for users in India.

Samsung Galaxy F15 smartphone features a 6.6-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate and runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ SoC for robust performance.

Talking about the camera, the smartphone offers a 50 MP main, a 5 MP ultrawide, a 2 MP macro, and a 13 MP front camera. The device is powered by a 6,000 mAh battery with 25W fast charging and operates on Android 14-based One UI 6. This device will soon get a One UI 6.1 update.
