Verizon update puts finishing touches on One UI 4.1.1

Samsung debuted the One UI 4.1.1, a new stable One UI iteration, based on the Android 12 OS with the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4. Released on August 10, these devices will start shipping to consumers on August 26, while Verizon update is already enhancing the One UI 4.1.1 with some notable stuff.

According to Verizon (via RPRNA), new firmware updates have been pushed for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 smartphones in the US, which aims to enhance the One UI 4.1.1 software. It means, that pre-order consumers will get a fresh FOTA just after setting up the Galaxy Z Fold 4 or Flip 4 for the first time.

Specifically, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 users can identify the July 2022 patch update through the build version F936USQU1AVGA, while it sports F721USQU1AVGA for the Galaxy Z Flip 4. Well, the July 2022 security patch is not the star of the show as the OTA also merges Google Duo into Google Meet.

Earlier, Google started upgrading the Duo experience to include all useful features of the Google Meet app. Post update installation, the Google Duo will be replaced by the new Google Meet app, which can also be downloaded from Play Store. Possibly, this change has remained in the pre-installed One UI 4.1.1.

Aside from this, the update changelog mentions performance improvements for the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 devices. We are in April and Samsung is rolling out a new firmware update for Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy A55, and Galaxy A54 smartphones in Europe. The update comes with enhanced 4G band support and general improvements to deliver a better experience.

The fresh update enhances the Regional LTE TDD band support to provide better network performance across various European countries. However, the Samsung device models bought in Germany will not support LTE TDD band signals in certain countries, including Belgium, Denmark, France, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic.

Moreover, the update improves some functions and fixes issues for error-free services. This fresh  update is rolling out to Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, Galaxy A55, and Galaxy A54 smartphones in Europe, following the release for the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S24 series.

Samsung has pushed an April 2024 security update for the Galaxy A53 smartphone in India, following the release in Europe and the US. The new update improves the system’s security and stability for a better user experience.

April 2024 update for the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G smartphone in India arrives with One UI build version A536EXXS9DXD2 and an installation package size of 243.59MB. This update is based on One UI 6.0 and the device is eligible for One UI 6.0/6.1.

The latest update includes the April 2024 security patch, which improves system security and stability by fixing over 40 issues. This update also improves some functions for better performance. However, it does not contain any new features or changes.

To check for software updates manually, head toward your phone’s Settings. At the bottom, you will get the Software Update section, simply open it. Inside the submenu, you need to hit the Download and Install button if your Galaxy fetches a new OTA.

Following the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung is rolling out a new firmware update with enhanced LTE band support for the Galaxy S23 series in Europe. It is a region-specific update and aims to improve the network for a better user experience.

Users of Samsung Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra smartphones are getting the second April 2024 update in Europe with One UI build version S911BXXU3CXD3, S916BXXU3CXD3, and S918BXXU3CXD3 respectively.

The new firmware of the Samsung Galaxy S23 in Europe updates the Regional LTE TDD band support to provide better network performance across various European countries.

Notably, there’s a limitation for German users. Galaxy S23 models bought in Germany will not support LTE TDD band signals in certain countries, including Belgium, Denmark, France, Luxemburg, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic.
