June 2025 Patch Arrives for Galaxy S23

Samsung’s June 2025 patch is now hitting the Galaxy S23 series. South Korea remains Samsung’s favorite country to initiate a firmware update rollout. The new software comes with crucial security improvements for the devices.
Before the Galaxy S23 series, Samsung rolled out the June 2025 patch to the Galaxy S25 and S24 series. The latest security update is also available for select mid-range smartphones, with availability depending on region.
June 2025 SMR carries 36 Android CVE items and 19 SVE items for the S23 series. Among these 55 fixes, 36 are categorized as high-level security threats, while 19 are included by Samsung to ensure the best security on Galaxy devices.
Samsung users can update their Galaxy’s software manually. To fetch the latest OTA, head towards the system Settings. From this section, open the Software update and then the Download and install. PDA software versions are as follows:
-
- S911NKSS6DYE5 – Galaxy S23
- S916NKSS6DYE5 – S23 Plus

The update changelog, as always, mentions security improvements. The update’s size is nearly 450 megabytes, indicating that nothing significant could have been contained in it. However, Galaxy users are advised to upgrade their phone’s software as soon as the OTA appears.
One UI 7 experience is getting refined
Samsung is refining the One UI 7 experience on Galaxy devices with incremental firmware updates. June’s software would play a key role in elevating the overall performance and functional stability of the Galaxy S23 series.
One UI 7 added plenty of new features and smooth animations. The battery life has been slightly harmed by the update, but Samsung continues to address flaws that are either ruining the experience or harming the battery life.
Samsung’s also Beta testing One UI 8 on the Galaxy S25 series. The Android 16-based One UI skin will be revealed next month, with OTA rollout to older Galaxy devices is likely to start thereafter, around August this year.

Galaxy S24 FE just grabbed Samsung’s most secure software, 55 fixes included

Samsung’s Galaxy S24 FE is also getting the June 2025 security update. Over the past two days, the company rolled out the latest security improvements to several models. And this time, the initial rollout is taking place in its home ground.
Galaxy S24 FE was launched in late 2024 with pretty impressive upgrades over the S23 FE. It boasts a large screen, a bigger battery, integrated Galaxy AI, and support for up to 7 generations of OS and 7 years of security updates.
The smartphone was released with Android 14-based One UI 6.1. The company later provided Android 15-based One UI 7 as the first major upgrade. It’s now eligible to jump to the Stable One UI 8 version, skipping the Beta Program.
One UI 8 update may take about two months to be available for the S24 FE. Meanwhile, Samsung is continuing to offer regular security improvements. The latest June 2025 patches are now live for the device, starting in South Korea.
Users can identify the update via PDA build version S721NKSS4BYE1. Earlier this month, the Korean tech giant disclosed that its June 2025 update brings 36 Android CVEs and 19 One UI SVE items to safeguard Galaxy devices.
Currently, the Galaxy S24 FE 5G’s June 2025 update is available in Korea. Samsung will expand the firmware to more markets in the next few days. Keep checking for the latest OTA through Settings > Software update > Download and install.
One UI 7 elevates Galaxy experiences with visual upgrades and smooth animations. Samsung’s next big upgrade, the One UI 8, is shaping up to be a major development in terms of usability improvements over the One UI 7.
Set to debut with foldables next month, the One UI 8 update will install Android 16 on Galaxy phones. It’s coming early pushed by Google’s efforts to help Android vendors launch their premium products with the latest OS.
