Samsung Keyboard

Keyboard is a necessary component of any smartphone and Samsung has enhanced the built-in One UI-based Keyboard app with lots of customization possibilities. Here are three Samsung Keyboard features that you should know.

Size and transparency

The Samsung Keyboard makes things easier by allowing you to alter its default size. You can resize or extend the interface by pulling on a set of blue handles on the left, right, top, bottom, or corners. If you have trouble reaching the space bar, you can even raise the keyboard.

To alter the keyboard size, go to Settings then General management then go to Samsung Keyboard settings then you will find the Size and transparency option. As an alternative, you can select Size and transparency by tapping the gear symbol on the keyboard toolbar from any interface.

Keyboard layout

The Samsung Keyboard has a tonne of settings for altering its layout. You can change from the standard Qwerty keyboard layout to Qwertz, Azerty, and even the traditional 34 keyboard layout from feature phones. You can choose various layouts for each language if you have several languages enabled.

In addition to other choices, adding or removing languages is simple. To check them out, simply tap the gear icon to enter the Samsung Keyboard settings and then Language and types.

Speaking of layouts, there is a separate layout option in the keyboard settings that allows you to enable a number row and other characters for easy access. Even the spacebar row can be modified to add buttons for periods and commas. To experiment with the options, go to Samsung Keyboard settings > Layout.

High contrast keyboard

The goal of Android 12’s Material You is to show users that a little color can go a long way toward improving their experience. Samsung provides an option to update the keyboard’s default appearance if it is growing stale with its Good Lock modules.

Launch the Good Locks app after downloading and installing it, then download the Keys Cafe module. Once enabled, you can use themes to add color to your keyboard anytime you press a key.

Samsung’s contrast feature allows you to colorize your keyboard even if you are unable to access the Good Lock program. Although it offers a few fascinating colors, it is primarily an accessibility setting to make the keys easier to see.

Go to High contrast keyboard in the Samsung Keyboard options. When it is turned on, you can choose from a variety of modes.

One UI 6.1 Battery last charge feature

Samsung has updated its Device Care app to version 13.8.6.11, which brings back the “since last charge” feature for its Galaxy smartphones. It was removed from Galaxy devices in the One UI 6 update. This function allows users to monitor their device’s battery performance and screen usage time since the last full charge.

According to the tipster Tarunvats, the return of the “since last charged” feature is due to user demand as it provides an accurate review of battery life. This feature is more informative than previous 24-hour tracking systems, which did not consider charging periods.

While this update brings added value, the monthly cost of both Samsung Care Plus plans will increase by $2 starting from the May billing cycle. Existing subscribers can choose to continue with the updated plans or cancel them.
