On August 15, Google officially released the new Android 13 OS to AOSP and began the rollout for Pixel phones enrolled in the Beta program. At the same time, the company confirmed that the Android 13 is coming to Samsung Galaxy and other OEMs devices later this year.

Currently, Samsung is conducting the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 Beta testing program on the Galaxy S22 series devices. So far, the company released the first Beta build to the supported smartphones, while, more devices are likely to join in the near future.

Last year, the Korean tech giant has started the Android 12 update rollout to the Public just a month after the Stable OS was released by Google. The timeline of the Samsung Android 12-based One UI 4.0 update was mid-October, accordingly, Google’s statement hints at the same timeframe for Android 13 as well.

There are a lot of Samsung phones that are eligible for the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 upgrade. Initially, the company will open the Stable rollout for the flagship devices such as the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S21, Z Fold 4, Flip 4, Fold 3, Flip 3, as well as Galaxy S20 and Note 20 series.

After delivering the major software update to premium phones, Samsung will push the One UI 5.0 update to mid-range, followed by budget phones. Similar to the last year, the Android 13 update rollout will last until the third quarter of next year.

“Android 13 is rolling out to Pixel devices starting today. Later this year, Android 13 will also roll out to more of your favorite devices from Samsung Galaxy, Asus, HMD (Nokia phones), iQOO, Motorola, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Sharp, Sony, Tecno, vivo, Xiaomi and more.”
