At the I/O 2022, Google started the Android 13 Beta program for select flagship models from various OEMs, excluding Samsung. Unquestionably, we Samsung fans are eagerly waiting for the Android 13 upgrade, while there’s no One UI 5 Beta program announcement happened at Google’s mega event.

Earlier this year, the US tech giant introduced the new Android 13 mobile platform for the Pixel devices on the Developers Preview channel. After two DP builds, the company released the first Public Beta for Pixels, followed by a new Beta for some non-Pixel phones too.

For years, the Korean tech giant is running an independent Beta testing program for the new Android operating system. This year too, the Samsung Galaxy devices will be able to test the new Android 13 changes and features through the One UI 5 Beta program.

Last year, Samsung invited the Galaxy S21 consumers to first test the Android 12-based One UI 4 Beta update. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra are the first in line to get the One UI 5 Beta and Stable update, this year.

So far, Samsung has not disclosed its plans for the Android 13-based One UI 5 Beta testing program for eligible Galaxy devices. Meanwhile, this page is going to guide you on how you will be able to download and install the One UI 5 Beta on your Galaxy, whenever it goes official.

How to sign up for Samsung One UI 5 Beta

Samsung created a quite easy way to sign up for the new Android OS-based One UI Beta program. Maybe next month, you will have the opportunity to get the Android 13-based One UI 5 Beta ROM on your eligible Galaxy flagship (Galaxy S22, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and Galaxy S21 series).

Once the Beta program begins in your country, you just need to head towards the Samsung Members app available on all Galaxy phones. First of all, login with your genuine Samsung Account then tap the Bell icon to access the notices and recent announcements.

Here, you should have a notice regarding One UI 5 Beta registration, tap on it and an entry form will appear so you can fill in your details. Now, the company will show you the terms and conditions of the One UI Beta program, read them carefully then hit the ENROLL button to conclude the Beta joining procedure.

Note: Samsung is expected to showcase the Android 13-based One UI 5 Beta program by late July/early August this year.

July 29: Samsung conducts its independent One UI Beta program for Galaxy devices. Last year, the company initiated the Beta program sometime near the stable Android 12 rollout for Pixels. Samsung has enhanced the Edge Panel feature with the latest One UI 5.0 Beta update. Earlier in the Apps Edge panel, the name of the apps is not visible which was inconvenient but now with One UI 5, you can see the name of the apps below the app’s icon by turning on a new function.

One UI 5.0 Beta brings a new option named Show app name, which let users see apps name below their icons on the home screen. This feature provides a better experience because now we can easily open the app by looking at the name of the app in the edge panel, now we don’t have to get confused in the icons.

How to enable Edge Panels?

First, open your smartphone’s Settings, then tap on the Display option, scroll down and tap the Edge Panels option. Turn on the toggle to enable it. You can also customize the Edge panels with the Panels and Handle options.

How to enable the Show app name option?

You can easily enable the Show app name function on Edge panels. Firstly, you have to add the Apps Edge Panel via your smartphone’s Settings. Now, open the Edge panel by swiping, then tap on the edit option placed at the bottom of the Apps Edge panel.

After clicking the menu option (three vertical dots) in the upper right corner, Apps Edge Panels Settings Window appears. Here you find the Show app name function, enable it and it is done.
