The phone features two cameras on the rear side including a 200MP main camera and a 12MP secondary sensor, which is believed to be an ultra-wide angle.

The S25 Edge is 5.8mm thick, which excludes the camera bump. However, its battery would disappoint the users with a total capacity of 3900mAh.

Galaxy S25 Edge vs S25 Ultra: Dummy reveals special design upgrades

Published

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra and S25 Edge Dummy

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge will soon make its way to the global customers and a dummy version of the device has revealed a massive upgrade in a side by side comparison to the S25 Ultra.

A Korean YouTuber has published a video featuring S25 Edge dummy, actually two dummies of the unreleased device, and explained some upgrades over the high-specs Samsung flagship.

Starting with looks, the YouTuber had two dummies, one in white and the other in all-black color. The rear side is plain as standard S25 model, with a more clear look at the vertical camera integration.

The phone has two lenses and their outlook is similar in size. The camera bump is only visible for design purpose, consisting of an LED flash.

The overall appearance is quite identical to the standard S25 and S25+. Notably, the black version has all colored appearance including a black frame, which blends into the rear.

The dummy was measured in real-time with a digital scale, revealing a 5.84mm thickness, around 2.4mm thinner than the S25 Ultra (8.2mm).

In a head’s down, side by side comparison, the S25 Edge looks impressively slimmer than the S25 Ultra. That’s not it, there’s more to observe in this shot.

Look at the components, the decreased thickness cannot be achieved without components and Samsung affirmed this in the short teaser at Unpacked 2025.

The teaser showed redesigned spare parts for this flagship. The look at the bottom of the device reveals trimmed charging port, the Sim Tray, and reshuffled speaker location.

A rear shot suggests that the phone has a slight less width than the Ultra, but the difference doesn’t look much in the video.

Another thing to note is that the device is smaller than the S25 Ultra, which is due to the smaller screen size at around 6.5-6.7-inches. The Galaxy S25 Edge dummy looks quite compelling with its design cut over S25 Ultra.

Conclusion

The new design upgrade will improve the in-hand experience for Galaxy S25 Edge users but we’ll have to wait for an official release date.

Samsung need to get a grip on Galaxy FE phones before it’s too late

Published

on

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE

Samsung launches new Galaxy FE phones by the end of a year, marked as Fan Edition, the company says these devices bring user feedback-based features and upgrades, but S24 FE doesn’t reflect this motto, and it’s time the company take this phone segment seriously before things gets out of hands.

In 2021, Samsung released the Galaxy S21 FE, a stripped Galaxy S21 priced at $699. Its outlook resembles the main model but with cheaper materials.

The phone has received positive reviews from consumers and reviewers. This success has brought a positive growth in Samsung’s mid-range offerings.

In the following year, Samsung changed the FE smartphone strategy by skipping the S22 FE and shifted its launch window to the end of the year. This time is not booked for any traditional flagship phones such as S-series or Fold series.

After this shift, Samsung S23 FE was announced in October 2023, carrying traits from the standard S23 and priced at $599. Its release makes sense against the standard S23, which was released in early 2023.

S24 FE

Launched in September 2024, the S24 FE is partially different from its predecessors. It has a 6.7-inch display, an Exynos chipset and three cameras. The phone has a shiny flat frame, like the S24 Plus, starting at $649.99.

Compared to the S21 FE and S23 FE, this phone lacks any of a Fan Edition signature. Instead, this was a slightly cheaper option to the S24 series. Moreover, Samsung’s delayed One UI 7 has taken away a potential selling point from the device.

Overall, the phone has no surprising element to make customers consider it over the standard flagship. That’s where the problem begins, after a huge initial customer response, the Korean phone maker should’ve amended its strategy, especially around FE phones.

Samsung Galaxy S24 FE December 2024 update

Improvements

If Samsung is still serious about this device, it should make some obvious changes and not focus on providing a cheap alternative to its top tier-devices.

Price

If It doesn’t want to evolve the FE lineup with any big upgrades, then keep it sub $600 pricing. That will better align with Samsung’s new phone launch.

Feed Something Special

Samsung has a record of no experimenting with new technologies in mid-range devices, but FE has a lot of scope in this segment. The company should experiment new features and techs that could make it more interesting.

Starting with the camera.

Feed it with a high-quality selfie-camera, the first S21 FE was well regarded for better selfies. In 2025, the importance of a good front-camera has increased even more, the phone should grab a high-resolution lens with better low-light photos and videos. That will be a good thing to do with this FE model.

Battery

New FE devices should pack a higher capacity battery, such as 5500mAh or 6000mAh. That’s not it, the company should ship it with a faster charging, such as 66W or higher. These specs are also eye-catching in the buying guide. Samsung offers these two in its budget phones, why not try it in FE as well.

Design change

Give the FE brand a different logo on the rear, try something like the China exclusive W-series or something else that suits the brand.

Latest software

Unlike S24 FE, the company should prioritize loading this phone with the latest software, to offer the latest features to customers first. This didn’t happen with the S24 FE, but it’s more likely to happen with the S25 FE, only if it is released.

Conclusion

Galaxy FE smartphones brings high-potential, and they’re highly customer-friendly, but Samsung needs to focus on making them more compelling with new technologies and customer-centric research.

What do you think that will help to keep the FE device in the right direction? Let us know via our social media channels.

The company is also running a discount of $150 on Pinkgold and Blueblack versions of the Plus model.

There’s a better chance that we’ll see their stock returning very soon in the face of customer response. On the other hand, this color is mostly stocked around the globe.

The 128GB Galaxy S25 is priced at $799.99 and the 258GB at $999.99. The S25+ variant is priced at $999.99 and its 512GB version costs $1,199.

However, the $150 discount takes the price down for the online exclusive colors. If you place an order, the company will ship these models to you by March 27.
