Galaxy S25 Slim: Samsung’s sleek rival to iPhone 17 Air?
Samsung could challenge Apple’s iPhone 17 Air with Galaxy S25 Slim next year. As Apple preps a slimmer handset, Samsung is also reportedly considering bringing a sleek Galaxy S smartphone in the next year.
With the launch of Galaxy S25 Slim, Samsung will be testing the Galaxy S26 design. If the sleek handset sells out well, the S26 models could go slimmer. If the consumer response renders negative, Samsung could stick to the same design approach.
Apple could replace the iPhone 17 Plus with the iPhone 17 Air (or Slim). It is said to be the biggest design revamp in Apple’s history. The iPhone 17 Air is almost confirmed, whereas the Galaxy S25 Slim is under consideration.
Recently, it was reported that the Galaxy S25 series will remain intact – in terms of models. The Korean tech giant will release the Galaxy S25 Slim sometime in April 2025. It is possible that the Galaxy S25 FE will not be released.
If Apple’s iPhone 17 Air materializes, Samsung will leave no stone unturned in commercializing a sleek flagship – S25 Slim. We currently have no genuine data on what would be the dimensions of the S25 Slim, but it’s not the same case with the iPhone 17 Air.
Apple’s iPhone 17 Air/Slim could be powered by an A19 chip paired with 8GB RAM. Thanks to adequate RAM installation, Apple Intelligence will be supported by the smartphone to better rival against competitors.
In terms of optics, the iPhone 17 Air could get a 48MP rear camera and a 24MP selfie snapper. Face ID should be supported for facial recognition. The display size is said to be 6.6 inches, which could feature LTPO and ProMotion technologies.
2025 is going to be an adventurous year for the smartphone industry. As the competition between innovating manufacturers goes intensive, consumers will have more options to choose from. Looking forward to further developments.

Samsung to surprise with three unique flagship debuts in 2025
Samsung could surprise with three new flagship phones debuting in 2025. The company is reportedly considering adding new flagships to its lineup. The models include a Galaxy S25 Slim, Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, and Galaxy Z Fold 7 Special Edition.
According to the input, Samsung could launch the flagship Galaxy S25 Slim in April 2025 as well as Z Flip 7 FE and Z Fold 7 SE in the 2nd half. These models are different from routine launches such as the Galaxy S25 series and Z Flip/Fold 7.
Galaxy S25 Slim could come as a limited edition to test the design difference. If consumers prefer buying slim flagships, Samsung could make its next-generation Galaxy S smartphones slimmer, possibly releasing in 2026.
Samsung wants more and more consumers to upgrade to a foldable experience. The company told investors during the earnings call that it’s working to expand the foldable segment to an even broader audience, hinting at an affordable foldable in 2025.
Apart from this, the next Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition could launch alongside the standard model next year. This year, the company launched the Z Fold SE in South Korea and China, about four months after Z Fold/Flip 6 debut.
Well, the Korean tech giant would start 2025 with the launch of the Galaxy S25 series. The lineup would include a Standard, a Plus, and an Ultra model. We expect the flagships may be introduced by the end of January next year.
The next-generation foldable lineup will be launched in the second half. This year’s Unpacked took place in July and a similar timeframe would be picked for the next year’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 smartphones.
