Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra is rumored to feature an unreleased 200MP ISOCELL camera, which could have Hexa2Pixel technology, as a trademark application just emerged on the web. Earlier, the company filed a trademark application with EUIPO for Hexa2pixel which could be used for camera sensor marketing.
According to the information, the Hexa2pixel trademark application was filed by Samsung on July 19, 2022, while the current status is “Application under examination.” The company mentioned that the name is related to image sensors under semiconductor devices, which hints at the next ISOCELL camera sensor.
Probably, Samsung will use the Hexa2pixel name in the marketing of its next-gen 200MP camera sensor (exclusive to Galaxy S23 Ultra) to define the pixel binding technology. The spelling Hexa2pixel seems catchy as well, which could be meant as 36-fold pixel binning, at least theoretically.
It’s worth mentioning that the Korean tech giant has already introduced tetrapixel and nanopixel technology that combine four pixels and nine pixels, respectively, in order to capture more light in low light conditions or dark. You can see the patent application below, in the screenshot.
Galaxy S23 Ultra
The Galaxy S22 Ultra was initially rumored to come with a 200MP camera sensor, but it didn’t happen as Samsung used an improved variant of its 108MP ISOCELL camera. For a long time, rumors circulated that the Galaxy S23 Ultra will become the first Samsung phone to have a massive 200MP camera.
Tipster IceUniverse recently claimed that the Galaxy S23 Ultra is likely to use a 200MP camera sensor by Samsung ISOCELL, however, it has not been released yet. Seeing the trademark application development, we can expect, that the company is gradually working on the 200MP lens for the next flagship smartphone.
Samsung Galaxy A14 design leaked in 5k renders and 360-degree video
Recently, we saw the renders of Samsung’s upcoming flagship smartphones – Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 Ultra through a very-well known creator On Leaks. Now the same source has showcased the renders of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy A14 that revels its design from a 360-degree view.
The front design shows that the display has changed to Infinity-U instead of Infinity-V which Galaxy A13 has. It looks like the Korean company saved the punch hole design for the next generation of this series which could be known as Galaxy A15.
The Samsung Galaxy A14 smartphone reportedly features a larger 6.8-inches FHD+ LCD screen compared to the 6.6-inch panel of the A13 and has dimensions of 167.7 x 78.7 x 9.3mm.
Moving on, the flat frame and circular camera designs are also similar to the previous model. It’s worth mentioning the new devices feature a triple camera setup rather than the predecessor’s quad camera.
Other than these, the back panel seems to have a plain gradient design, currently, it’s only showcased in black color but the company will surely introduce more colors. Lastly, the renders also suggets a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for privacy.
Besides, the remaining design aspects including the positioning of the power key-integrated fingerprint scanner and the volume rockers on the right spine are identical. There’s also a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB Type-C port, and the speaker grille at the bottom of the phone.
Other than these, Samsung is suggested to launch the new Galaxy A-series smartphones in early 2023. Meanwhile, if the company goes with this year’s Galaxy A-series launch schedule, the Galaxy A14 might launch at the end of this year.

Apple wants Samsung and LG to develop 3500ppi OLEDoS panels for AR/VR device
Samsung and LG displays are the best in the market, and Apple on its iPhones uses the display which these two companies make. Recently, Apple has increased the specification it wants from its OLED on Silicon (OLEDoS) panel from Samsung and LG display manufacturers that it will use in upcoming AR/VR devices.
Going by the report, the US tech has originally requested Samsung and LG to develop 2800 PPI (Pixels per inch) panels for AR/VR devices. Meanwhile now, the company has increased the display specs to 3500 PPI.
The report by The Elec further says that the intention to improve the display specs is to increase the immersion consumers feel from its first-generation mixed reality headset that is suggested to launch in next year.
The information further says that Apple will initially use Sony’s micro-displays and then shift to LG and Samsung in second-gen headsets. Apple’s mixed reality headset will start with OLEDoS at 3500ppi, meanwhile, Samsung and LG are working on using future LEDoS displays at 6,000-7,000ppi.
The Elec believes, “Samsung Display had been slow to dip its toe on OLEDoS as it believed it was a small market but the top executives at Samsung had admonished Samsung Display for judging on the technology quickly.”
Moreover, the information also suggests Apple considers OLEDoS to be a lower entry barrier than LEDoS and wants to take the lead on the latter technology over its rivals LG Display and Sony.
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 hinge breaking reports emerge in large number
Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 foldable smartphones feature more durable hinge compared to their predecessors. Both the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 passed various durability tests, and videos revealed a newer Samsung hinge system, featuring a narrower gap, but reports of hinge breaking have started to emerge.
The Galaxy Z Flip 4 comes with a starting price tag of $999, but, still has less durability, as reported by a group of users on the web. According to users, the hinge of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 smartphone is breaking (disjointed) even without minimal drops.
Spotted by PiunikaWeb, some Galaxy Z Flip 4 users believe that Samsung’s new hinge design got failed in durability than the previous iteration, making the foldable smartphone weaken. With just a quite minimal drop, the hinge of the device got damaged, hinting the internal joint has been broken.
Adding to this, the Galaxy Z Flip 4’s hinge is disjointed even after it was protected with a hinge protection strap and an armored cover, as cited by users. A user even claimed that he dropped the Galaxy Z Flip 3 but it has no problem even after a year, while, it’s not the same case with its successor.

As the owner of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 shown in the video, the device’s hinge got badly damaged, internally. The phone is not opening at over about a 90-degree angle due to internal damage to the hinge, and the screen will badly break the sides if the phone gets forcefully unfolded.
We are not sure whether it’s a manufacturing defect or a flaw in the new hinge system that debuted with the Galaxy Z Flip 4. Samsung should look into the matter and help buyers fix the broken hinge of their $999 foldable smartphone alongside thinking about further durability improvements.
I expected that the z flip 4 have stonger hinge and screen as enodrsed by Samsung during the launch of this device. But apparently it’s the other way around as the z flip 4 seems to be more fragile than the z flip 3.
Phone fell from waist height to the floor. Closed, in it’s silicone case, flat onto the ground. I’m 5ft4in. Phone now doesn’t open fully, and the top and bottom halves are misaligned from that tiny drop. Permanently stuck in flex mode, if you will. There’s visible warping underneath the left side of the hinge on the screen, assuming from whatever is underneath getting dislodged and poking upwards.
