Samsung One UI 4.1 Calling Features
Call forwarding:
Call forwarding is perfect for redirecting calls to your Galaxy phone, whether it involves transferring office calls to your personal phone or maybe you just want to forward calls from one mobile phone to another.
Here’s how to do it:
- Open the Phone app on your Galaxy phone.
- Tap on the three-dot menu.
- Enter Settings.
- Now tap on Supplementary services.
- Click on Call forwarding.
- Choose your preferred option:
- Always forward
- Forward when busy
- Forward when unanswered
- Forward when unreachable
- Select an option and enter the desired number that your calls will be forwarded to.
- Finally, tap Enable.
Call waiting:
When the Call waiting feature is turned on, you can answer a new call without ending your ongoing call. Here’s how to enable it:
- Head over to the Phone app.
- Tap on More options followed by Settings.
- Enter Supplementary services.
- Tap the switch next to Call waiting to turn it on.
Block caller ID:
You can block your caller ID while making a call. This is useful if you want to hide your phone number. To do this:
- Go to the Settings of your Samsung Phone app.
- Tap on Supplementary services.
- Tap Show my caller ID and then tap your preference:
- Network default
- Hide number
- Show number
Limit calling to a specific number:
Fixed dialing allows you to set up your SIM card so that only the numbers you define can be dialed. With this mode enabled, the phone will still be able to call 911 in case of an emergency. This is ideal for parents who want to limit who their kids can call. You will need a PIN2 code from your carrier to set this up.
To set this up:
- Visit your phone’s Phone app.
- Tap on the More option followed by Settings.
- Go to the Supplementary services.
- Tap Fixed dialing numbers.
- Tap Enable FDN.
- Enter the SIM card PIN2 that you received from your carrier.
Note: If the PIN2 is entered incorrectly, it may lock your SIM card and you will need to purchase a new card from your carrier.
Conference calls:
The conference is a handy calling feature available on any smartphone. You’ll be able to speak with two or more people at the same time. To use it:
- Navigate the Phone app on your Galaxy device.
- Dial a number you want to call, using a keypad or contacts.
- Wait until the person picks up your call.
- Tap + Add call option.
- Choose a second person to call and then tap the Call icon.
- Wait until the second person answers.
- Tap Merge to create a conference call.
- Follow the same steps to add more people to the call.
- To manage the call, tap Conference call on your calling screen.
- From here, you can tap Split to separate the callers from the conference call, or tap Drop to end one of the calls.
- To end the conference call, tap the End call icon.

Biden rushes CHIPS Act deals ahead of Trump’s presidency
Samsung is trying to secure CHIPS Act subsidies before Donald Trump takes charge. Joe Biden introduced CHIPS and Science Act to boost semiconductor business on American soil. However, the President-elect is a big critic of the CHIPS Act.
Bloomberg reports that the Biden administration is rushing to finalize CHIPS Act agreements with Intel and Samsung. Notably, Samsung and Intel are set to receive direct subsidies of $6.4 billion and $8.5 billion, respectively.
During his election campaign, President-elect Trump heavily mocked the CHIPS and Science Act. It is expected that Trump could put tariff on semiconductor manufacturers and nullify subsidies before disbursment.
Concerns have arisen that semiconductor companies, which have invested heavily in the U.S. over the past four years, might not receive subsidies, or that U.S. companies like Intel could be prioritized.
Intel is an American company, which could be unaffected by Trump’s presidency. As the President-elect prefers an “America First” policy, it’s an alarming situation for Samsung Electronics, which bases its headquarters in South Korea.
Since the CHIPS and Science Act is considered a key industrial policy of the Biden administration, this move is seen as an effort to finalize binding contracts and distribute promised subsidies before the administration changes.

Galaxy S24 cracks Top 10 during iPhone’s quarter:
For the first time since 2018, an Android flagship ranked in the top 10 best-selling phones in the third quarter. Samsung launched the Galaxy S24 series in January (first quarter) this year, but the handset still selling well.
In a shocking twist, the vanilla Galaxy S24 ranked as the tenth best-selling phone. This marks the first time since 2018 that an Android flagship (from Samsung) has broken into the top ten during the third quarter of the year.
Analysts note that the sales of the Galaxy S24 series have been mainly driven by a strong marketing focus on its GenAI capabilities. Earlier, MX Prex TM Roh also highlighted Samsung’s reliance on the Galaxy S24 series for another quarter.
