Google Calendar Tip: Create Event
Use Google Calendar to manage your daily agenda with the Event option. There you will get two ways to add an event to Google Calendar for Android, such as a productive plan for your team meetings. A field will display for you to expand and fill up once you press the plus button or choose a day and time on your calendar.

- Name and describe your event
- Set the date and time
- Invite people and even view their schedules
- Add attachments
- Add video conferencing
- Specify a location
- Set up notifications

When you save your changes, the event will appear on your calendar for you to edit as you choose. By selecting an event and then tapping the three-dot option, you can replicate it as well.
However, you must tap the menu symbol and navigate to Settings > Reminders if you want to change the color of every reminder. You can choose from a wide variety of colors appropriate for various settings. You can select and add notifications for both daily events and generic events.

The Default event duration page, found under Settings > General, allows you to specify the duration of sessions on your calendar, which can be anywhere from 15 to 120 minutes.

The Pixel 8 series will also have some new video features, such as Video Boost, Light Sight, and Audio Eraser. The Pixel 8 will be available in Obsidian, Hazel, and Rose color options, while the Pixel 8 Pro will come in Obsidian, Porcelain, and Bay. The prices and availability of the devices are yet to be announced by Google.
Some Google Pixel and Samsung owners recently noticed that a useful feature of Smart Lock called Trusted Devices disappeared from their devices. Now, Google has fixed the Trusted devices missing issue and users can now again use this feature.
Smart Lock allows users to keep their phones unlocked when connected to a trusted Bluetooth device, such as a smartwatch or a car system. This feature is part of Smart Lock on Android 13 and older and is renamed to Extend Unlock on Android 14.
However, in recent days, many users have reported that the Trusted Devices option is no longer available in Smart Lock/Extend Unlock settings on Samsung and Pixel devices. They can only see On-body detection and Trusted places options. This issue seems to affect both Android 13 and 14 devices, regardless of the Google Play services version.
If you are still experiencing this issue on your device, check if there is a Google Play system update available. If yes then the update is now to enjoy a smooth and bug-free experience.
Aside from this, Google is also working on a new feature called Watch Unlock, which will let users unlock their phones with their smartwatches. However, this feature is not ready for public release yet.
Google Messages is getting a new look for its voice recorder UI. The microphone icon in the text field will change to a waveform icon, which is different from the voice typing button in Gboard.
Instead of holding down the mic to record, you will now see a panel with a start/stop button and options to cancel, delete, or attach the recording. You will also see a waveform and a timer while recording, and you can play back the recording before sending it.
The voice messages preview will also show a waveform between the play/pause button and the timer, making it more noticeable than the current straight line.
These changes are not widely available yet, but some users have reported seeing them on their phones. These new changes are part of a bigger redesign that Google is working on for Messages, which includes a revamped home screen that is still in beta testing. Google might announce new features soon.
