How to enable Samsung Always On Display (AOD) in Landscape mode [One UI 4.1]

Always On Display, better known as AOD is one of the most prominent features you will find in any AMOLED and Super-AMOLED Samsung smartphone. When enabled, you don’t need to unlock your phone to view important information like time, date, notifications, missed calls, battery level, and more.

If you are using a Galaxy phone, you can do even more with AOD. The tech giant offers many clocks and designs, you can choose colors and wallpapers or can even select a picture from the gallery to put on your Always On Display screen.

It also has some AOD widgets so you can play music on the off-screen, or check schedules and alarms. You can also pin text and images that you want to remember every time.

Furthermore, with Galaxy S22 series in February, Samsung also introduced the One UI 4.1 custom OS that brought multiple new features and improvements. Samsung Always On Display also got further improvements with the latest One UI version.

By default, Samsung enables the AOD in portrait mode, however, you can change it to landscape mode as well. Here’s the guide on how to enable Samsung AOD to Landscape mode.

Samsung Always On Display

First of all, turn on AOD:

  • Open the Settings app.
  • Go to the Lock screen.
  • Click on Always On Display.
  • Tap the switch at the top of the screen to turn it on.
  • Choose the mode that best suits your needs:
    • Tap to show: The Always On Display will appear for a short time after tapping the screen.
    • Show always: The Always On Display will be continuously shown whenever the phone is locked.
    • Show as scheduled: You can set up a schedule for when Always On Display will show. For example, you can make it display during the day but turn it off at night.

Enable Samsung AOD in Landscape mode:

  • Go to the Settings of your phone.
  • Enter the Lock screen option.
  • Click on Always On Display.
  • Tap Screen orientation.
  • Finally, tap Landscape and it’s done.

Don’t worry, you can do that as Samsung offers a function for Galaxy devices named “Auto switch to other devices”.

The Auto switch to other devices function allows your Galaxy Buds to automatically connect to the phone or tablet you’re using when you start a call or play media. This way, you don’t have to worry about missing a call or pausing your music when you switch devices. You can enjoy seamless audio across your Samsung devices.

To use this feature, you need to sign in to the same Samsung account on both your phone and tablet. This feature may vary depending on your device, so make sure you have the latest software update on both devices. You also need to enable Bluetooth on both devices and pair your Galaxy Buds with them.

  • Tap on Earbuds settings.
  • Tap on the Auto switch to other devices option
  • Toggle on the switch, next to the devices you want to use with the auto switch.

Samsung offers a bundle of features for lock screen customization on your Galaxy smartphone. In addition to the wallpaper, you can now add transition effects for lock screen wallpapers, all thanks to the Samsung Wonderland Good Lock module.

The new update of Samsung Wonderland added a new type of wallpaper that includes captivating transition effects when the user turns on the screen. It allows users to customize their experience by setting different wallpapers with transitions.

How to add transitional effects on the lock screen?

To apply the transition effect lock screen wallpaper, you just need to follow a few steps given below.

  • Open Samsusng Wonderland app.
  • Tap on the “Create your different lock screen effect” option.

  • Now tap on the Set as Wallpaper option and it is done.
