Use Grammarly

Samsung One UI 4.1 brings Grammarly to the Samsung keyboard. It ensures that every text is clear, mistake-free, and professional. Meanwhile, if you want Grammarly to stop marking a particular spelling as incorrect, you can add the word to your personal dictionary. To enable it:

  • Open your Galaxy phone’s Settings.
  • Go to General management.
  • Click on Samsung Keyboard settings.
  • Scroll down and tap the Select third-party content to use.
  • From the menu, enable the Grammarly keyboard integration.
  • Go back to the main menu then head over Suggest text corrections.
  • Enable Writing Assistant for English or whatever language you use on your phone.

Customize Symbols

If you don’t like the default set of symbols that show up when pressing the period (.) key, you can replace the characters with the ones that you use frequently. To do this:

  • Go to the Settings of Samsung Keyboard.
  • Tap Custom symbols.
  • Tap on the symbol that you want to change.
  • Select its replacement symbol from the keyboard.

Add and Customize Emojis, GIFs, and Stickers

All the emojis, GIFs, and stickers offered by the Samsung Keyboard are housed under the Emoji icon in the toolbar. To add, use, and customize emojis and stickers on Samsung Keyboard:

    • Here you will find a list of existing shortcuts.
  • Tap on the add (+) icon at the top to create a new shortcut.
  • Type the shortcut phrase like MTE and its expanded phrase (Make Tech Easier) in the available fields.
  • Tap on Add.

Samsung keyboard has built-in tools to let users translate text on the go. To can use it inside any application such as WhatsApp, Instagram, etc. To use it:

  • Tap the Translate button in the toolbar to open translation panel.
  • Choose the input and output languages by tapping on the arrows next to them.
  • Start typing the text that you want to translate in the box and hit the Translate button, present in the place of Enter button, to add it to the text field.

Use swipe typing

You can use gestures to type quickly using Samsung Keyboard. Simply slide your finger across the letters that you want to type. To do this:

  • Go to Settings.
  • Scroll down and enter Swipe, touch, and feedback.
  • Tap Keyboard swipe controls.
  • Select Swipe to type.
