Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 received the July 2022 security update last week. Now it is the device’s predecessor – Galaxy Z Flip 5G that is the latest phone to receive the July 2022 Android security patch update.

Identified via One UI build version F707BXXU6GVF7, the current update is released for Australian users of the device. However, the company will not let other users wait for too long to get access to the new changes.

Going by the new information, the new latest Galaxy Z Flip 5G update improves the security and reliability of the device’s system. It also fixes various privacy and security-related bugs and issues in order to enhance the overall device performance.

These vulnerabilities include 41 CVE and SVE items from Google and Samsung, which are related to the Messages app, Knoxguard lock, Wearable Manager Installer, Samsung Finder, Contacts storage, and others.

The update changelog doesn’t mention any other changes besides these. Still, we suggest you install the update as it could be responsible for your phone’s seamless performance and reduced lagging, app crashing, etc.

Furthermore, to get access to the July 2022 update on your Galaxy Z Flip 5G, go to Settings >> Software update >> Download install. Now, wait for the device to check available updates, tap Download bottom, and install the update to your phone.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G came pre-installed with Android 10 OS a couple of years back. The device later received its two major OS updates, such as Android 11-based One UI 3 and Android 12-based One UI 4.

It is currently running on Android 12-based One UI 4.1, which is the latest custom software skin offered by the Korean tech giant. Next, the device will receive Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1, which is specially optimized for tablets and foldable phones.

It should be mentioned that the device is also eligible for Android 13-based One UI 5.0 and might receive the update in late 2022.

Samsung Galaxy S21, S21 Plus and S21 Ultra started getting January 2023 security patches in India. The release is happening a full month late and consumers living in India are feeling like they have owned a mid-range or budget phone, which is missing from Samsung’s priority.

Anyways, the February 2023 Unpacked is just a few hours away and the company is going to release the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy Book3 series gadgets. With the new smartphone lineup, Samsung is bringing the One UI 5.1 firmware, which will be delivered to the Galaxy S21 series as well.

Samsung starts rolling out the January 2023 security update to the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra smartphones in India. The update comes with regular security improvements for the system as well as stock apps and services. Software versions:

How to update

First, open your phone’s system Settings then scroll down until you see the Software update tab. Once reached, tap it and hit the Download and install button. It would take some time to fetch a new OTA on Samsung’s firmware server, lastly, follow on-screen instructions and that’s it!
