My Samsung Note 20 Ultra gets USB port moisture issue and it’s not going away

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 usb moisture issue

Suddenly, my Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra started showing the prompt of moisture issue in the USB port, even, though it didn’t get wet at all! Immediately after seeing the moisture issue notification, I turned the phone off and checked for any signs of water.

I was already sure that my Galaxy Note 20 Ultra didn’t arrive in contact with moisture or water, while I ensured again as Samsung started showing the USB port moisture issue warning. I didn’t find any sign of external water insertion or moisture either in the USB port or speaker grill.

It means the moisture detection feature might get affected by any severe bug that forces it to show a warning for the consumers. Due to the warning, I’m not able to charge my phone’s battery as it continues to drain the battery, and therefore, my phone is now off.

As shown in the warning that appeared on the homescreen, I waited for a few hours keeping the phone in the sunlight. When the warning doesn’t ditch, I tried cleaning the USB port by shaking it as well as pointing the dryer, but it’s not going away.

Here’s the Warning

Warning: Don’t use charging/USB port

We’ve detected moisture or foreign material in your charging/USB port.

Check your charging/USB port for any foreign material such as dust or debris. To prevent damage to your phone, don’t plug anything in until the charging port is clean, the moisture is gone and the notification is cleared.

To dry the port, shake out any moisture, then wait for it to dry, which could take several hours. You can speed up drying by pointing a fan or dryer (cool air only) at the port.

In the meantime, you can charge your phone wirelessly.

Restarting the phone is like a boon for smartphones, hehe, I tried it too, even more than one time, but the warning is not removed. Now, it’s time to go for a factory reset, which could fix if the moisture detection warning is appearing because of any issue, otherwise, I’ll be needing to charge it through a wireless charger only.

Are you also facing the same issue on your Galaxy smartphone? Let us know your phone’s model, software version as well as security patch level. If it’s happening because of a software issue, Samsung should immediately acknowledge the issue and provide a fix ASAP.

samsung galaxy z flip 4 screen protector

Compared to the last year’s Galaxy Z Flip 3, Samsung’s brand new Galaxy Z Flip 4 offers a more durable foldable display. Out of the box, both new foldables: Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 come applied with a Samsung screen protector, however, there’s a question – whether we can remove the screen protector or not.

On the foldable screen of the Galaxy Z Flip 4, Samsung applied the screen protector as an extra layer of security to safeguard the device from unwanted scratches and so on. Galaxy foldables are equipped with Samsung’s cutting-edge ultra-thin glass technology, however, the screen protector keeps the layer secure all time.

One word answer for the post title is – Yes, you can remove the screen protector of the Galaxy Z Flip 4 smartphone, however, we recommend you not to pull it off. Compared to the regular glass panels, the foldable displays are not so strong and can be badly affected by minor scratches, accidental bumps and dust particles.

In the previous models, it was seriously recommended that users should not remove the screen protector of Samsung foldable phones. Meanwhile, the recent generation foldables have an unremovable screen protector, which can be removed by the user.

As per the info, some users found that the Galaxy Z Flip phone works well even without the pre-applied screen protector. Over time, the screen protector might start to peel off itself or could remove accidentally, however, it wouldn’t be good to remove it by yourself.

Screen protector apart, you can give additional durability to your Galaxy Z Flip 4 foldable smartphone by applying official cases or covers. In case if anything goes wrong after removing the screen protector, your Galaxy Z Flip 4 will be repaired or replaced under a standard warranty of 12 months.
