Samsung Vice President Lee Jae-Yong

Lee Chan-hee, chairman of Samsung‘s Compliance Committee, speaks during the meeting with the top executives of Samsung Group affiliates at the office in Seoul, South Korea. He called for Samsung Group’s chief Lee Jae Yong to be pardoned.

He said this because the vacant leadership position is leaving the country’s largest conglomerate to suffer at times when the external business environment surrounding the giant chipmaker is rapidly changing.

Talking about this further he says that if the top management of Samsung is not able to manage the group properly, they will have to suffer a lot. So, he wants the government should take the decision according to the people and the majority.

The business fraternity is raising its voice and calling on the government to pardon Lee as he is not legally allowed to return to the management due to five years of employment ban until 2027. Because he was found guilty of doing the fraud of 500 million won.

We can see that the semiconductor chip has become a strategic tool for the United States and China to be competent in the technology. Looking at this some members of the group agree that the South Korean government should pardon Lee in order to increase the foreseeable business opportunity that could lead the way for Samsung in business decisions.

5.8mm! Galaxy S25 Edge to be incredibly thin, iPhone 17 Air to be thanked

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge

At the Galaxy Unpacked, Samsung showcased the Galaxy S25 Edge prototype. The smartphone is expected to be launched in the second quarter. A new input talks about the thin design dimensions and trade-offs of the Galaxy S25 Edge.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is expected to be incredibly thin to 5.84mm. iPhone 17 Air has reportedly forced Samsung to rethink the S25 Edge’s design decision. That said, the company has made last-minute changes that are bold.

Insider says that Samsung planned a 6.4mm Galaxy S25 Edge (Slim). The device was assumed to have a triple camera setup including a telephoto lens. However, a sleeker design was preferred to compete with the iPhone 17 Air.

The dimensions of the phone are rumored to be 158.2 x 75.5 x 5.84 mm. The major difference between prototype and CAD renders (by Onleaks) is because of the fact that Samsung has been testing two different design prototypes.

To reduce the thickness, Samsung has reportedly dropped the Telephoto camera. The battery is also getting reduced to under 4000mAh. These trade-offs are only aligned at reducing the thickness to challenge the iPhone 17 Air.

Key Changes & Design Highlights:

  • Ultra-thin body: 5.84mm, down from the earlier 6.4mm prototype
  • Camera cutback: Now a dual-camera setup (200MP main + 50MP ultra-wide), with no telephoto lens
  • Camera bump issue: Samsung designed an oblong camera module to create an optical illusion, making the protrusion appear less significant

Apple’s iPhone 17 Air could be thinner between 5.5mm and 6.0mm. The device could have only one rear camera as part of achieving the ultra-thin profile. A single speaker is also possible instead of stereo speakers for audio.
