Samsung One UI 3.1.1 replaced the most-anticipated One UI 3.5 iteration last year. While the company killed the Galaxy Note series, its exclusive software also died for always, meanwhile, the third-gen foldable phones debuted a whole new One UI iteration – 3.1.1.
Like last year, Samsung is going to introduce its next-gen foldable smartphones, sometime in August. Ahead of any official confirmation, important information has been revealed, which is about the Samsung One UI 4.1.1, based on the Android 12 and Wonderland app issue.
According to Samsung mod, the upcoming One UI 4.1.1 firmware will fix major issues occurring on the Good Lock’s Wonderland customization application. The recently emerged bugs and issues require “a lot of platform-level code correction”, which will be reflected with the One UI 4.1.1 version.
While the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 launch is still unconfirmed, we can’t say anything about the One UI 4.1.1. However, the Korean tech giant is expected to introduce new foldables in August so the One UI 4.1.1 will also be there at the same time.
According to Samsung’s tradition, the upcoming One UI 4.1.1 version will also be based on Google’s Android 12 operating system. It should introduce new foldable screen optimized features and improvements for better user experiences.
Currently, 4.1 is the latest version of Samsung’s custom Android 12 skin, while the initial variant was One UI 4.0. Ahead of the Android 13-based One UI 5 update, the flagship smartphone owners might get further system stability improvements with One UI 4.1.1.

One UI 4.1.1 will come to non-foldable Samsung phones?
After One UI 4.1, Samsung is all set to release the next One UI version – One UI 4.1.1 on August 10 along with Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Galaxy Z Flip 4 smartphones. There is no doubt that One UI 4.1.1 will be based on Android 12L but its features are yet to be revealed.
It is a matter of discussion whether the Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1 update will be rolled out for all Samsung devices (including non-foldable and foldable) or only for foldable smartphones and tablets. It is worth mentioning that the company has not yet officially confirmed anything other than the release date, neither its features nor compatibility.
Like One UI 3.1.1, Samsung One UI 4.1.1 is also launching in the month of August with new foldable smartphones. If we go with the previous One UI version, then the latest One UI 4.1.1 will be unveiled along with the first foldable and will also be released for other eligible Galaxy devices.
But there is a possibility that it will be released only for the foldable smartphone. Today, Samsung has started the One UI 5.0 Beta Program for the latest flagship smartphones including Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 Plus, and Galaxy S22 Ultra in Korea.
These devices have not received a One UI 4.1.1 update, for them, the company has started One UI 5.0 beta testing directly. And we can expect that in the future other flagship smartphones like Galaxy S21, Galaxy Note 20, and Galaxy S20 will also receive One UI 5.0 Beta. If this happens, then in this condition we can say that the One UI 4.1.1 update will be released only for foldable smartphones.
Aside from this, the company already started bringing One UI 4.1.1 support for its stock apps. Several Galaxy apps including NiceStar, One Hand Operation +, Galaxy Themes, MultiStar, and Home Up have already received One UI 4.1.1 support. The company wants to make apps compatible with the upcoming major update.
