Once highly used for sharing pictures, music, and other files, Bluetooth is now popular for connecting different devices like buds, headphones, smartwatches, etc wirelessly. It has become an important part of our day-to-day life thus, its improvement is also important.
Android 13 Beta 2 introduced Bluetooth Low Energy Audio which reduces energy consumption while keeping audio quality the same. And since Samsung’s One UI 5.0 will be based on Android 13 OS, we expect the same for Galaxy device owners as well.
Bluetooth Low Energy Audio is the new standard for low-power audio transmission through Bluetooth. It uses a Low Complexity Communication Codec to reduce power consumption and improve the quality of audio transmitted by Bluetooth.
At the same time, it also adds features like location-based audio sharing, hearing aid support, as well as multi-device audio broadcasting for Android users. This multi-device audio broadcast feature allows one audio source device to broadcast a stream to multiple audio sync devices.
Devices with Bluetooth audio support will show a new option for broadcasting media in the media output picker. According to Google, it will let users broadcast media to their nearby devices, or listen to someone else’s broadcast.
Users will have to scan the QR code or enter the name and password for the broadcast, to tune broadcast media.
