Google’s Android 13 Beta 2.1 fixes several issues appeared in previous betas

Earlier this month at its I/O developer conference, Google released the Android 13 beta 2 update with new features and changes. Now, the search giant is rolling out the Android 13 Beta 2.1 with a slew of fixes.

The Android 13 beta 2.1 update is available for users who have already participated in the previous betas update. The latest beta update of Android 13 brings fixes for problems that appeared in the previous betas. Those who are currently testing the beta can download and install this update to get a better experience.

According to the changelog, the beta update fixes several issues such as typing in the search bar resulting in an empty list of suggestions, the device crashing when turning on the hotspot or disconnecting Android Auto, and hearing a call dialing sound in the background during a phone call.

The Galaxy S22 series devices debuted with the Android 12-based One UI 4.1 iteration, back in February 2022. All the Samsung Galaxy S22 lineup phones are first in line to receive the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update on both Beta and Stable channels.

The 2022 Galaxy S flagship models come with support for 4 generations of Android OS upgrades. Starting with the Android 13, the Korean tech giant has promised Galaxy S22 consumers to deliver major upgrades up to Android 16, alongside 5 years of regular security patches.

Well, talking about the first OS switch, the Galaxy S22 phones will be getting the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 Beta and Stable update sometime in July and later this year, respectively. Google introduced the Android 13 OS, as Developer Preview, in February 2022, it’s not available for any Samsung device.

Galaxy S22 Android 13 Beta Status

We are expecting the Android 13-based One UI 5 Beta activity for the Galaxy S22 line sometime in July or August this year. The program should be available in 7 countries like previously, letting consumers experience the new OS and features months ahead of its Public release.

Samsung Android 13 One UI 5.0 Beta/Stable release date revealed

I’m eagerly waiting for the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 upgrade for my Samsung smartphone, like other fans. Earlier reports revealed that the company will start Beta program in early July for the Galaxy S22 series, while a recent report gives us a more clear understanding about its Beta and Stable release date.

As per the SamMobile report, Samsung is reportedly launching the One UI 5 Beta program based on Android 13 in the third week of July. The Beta build will first be available for the Galaxy S22 series, well, it will expand to Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 consumers, later on.

As soon as Samsung starts the Android 13 Beta program, the Galaxy S22 series smartphone users will be able to join the activity in select regions. After testing the new One UI 5.0 update in Beta channel, Samsung aims to begin the Stable rollout by October this year.

Last year, the South Korean tech giant started the Android 12-based One UI 4 Beta program in August, while the Stable firmware released in min-November. This year, the overall process seems going faster as compared to the last year’s rollout.

These Samsung phones won’t get Android 13 upgrade [List]

Google is going to introduce the Android 13 operating system later this year, while Samsung is likely to start the One UI 5 Beta activity for Galaxy phones by July. Various Galaxy phones and tablets are eligible to receive the Android 13, however, we’ve compiled a list of Samsung devices that won’t get this major upgrade.

Samsung offers up to four generations of major Android upgrades to flagship Galaxy phones and tablets launched in/after 2021. Meanwhile, older flagship Galaxies such as the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 series were compatible with two OS upgrades at the time of launch.

Aside from this, it’s expected that the Korean phone maker will deliver the Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1 upgrade to the ineligible Galaxy devices.

Update: Google released the Android 13 Beta 3.2 update for eligible Pixel smartphones with fixes for major issues and exploits. It comes with supplementary stability improvements to the new operating system, bringing it one step closer to its Public release.
