With the large Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra display, notifications are now easier to access. You no longer have to swipe down from the top edge of the display to read the notifications. You can simply swipe down from anywhere on the home screen.

To enable it:

  • On the home screen, pinch two fingers together to go to the home screen menu.
  • Tap Settings.
  • And toggles Swipe down for notification panel on or off.

You can also quickly turn on “Rotate into landscape mode” so that the home screen will rotate when you use the phone in landscape mode.

Although you can use split-screen on every Samsung phone, you cannot open every application in a split-screen view on older phones. However, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra allows you to do so. To enable it:

To use it:

  • Enter your phone’s Settings.
  • Go to Advanced features.
  • Tap Video call effects.

  • Swipe down twice to open the quick settings bar.
  • Tap on the three dots.
  • Go to Quick Panel Layout.
  • Tap Brightness control.
  • Enable Always show.

Tip: If it is still too bright for you, you will also find Extra Dim Mode in the quick settings.

  • Open the Gallery.
  • Select a photo you want to set as call background.

Wonderful feature! Here you can create screenshots, cut out objects and create GIFs. The latter is amazing. You can make a GIF out of any video.

Smart Select converts the text on the image into real text that you can use with copy and paste. What a time to be alive!

To do this:

  • Pull out the S Pen.
  • Tap S Pen Command.
  • Tap Smart Select.
  • Select a photo with text on it.
  • Select text.
  • Tap the ‘T’ in the menu.

Capture sharp photos of moving objects

The Galaxy S22 Ultra’s camera is one of the best smartphone cameras in the world. One complaint we often hear is that capturing a moving object is shaky. Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has a fix for it.

  • Open the Camera.
  • Pull the trigger down and away.

This forces the camera to use a shorter exposure time. If you pull down and hold down the shutter button, you can take multiple shots and choose the best picture. The picture is now, of course, darker than usual. But you can balance by:

  • Heading over to the Gallery.
  • Tap the Pencil >> Then to the Sun.

Here you can adjust the image in nine different parameters and thus get more brightness and details out again.

Focus optimization and detail optimization

Another unhandy task of more demanding photography is macro shots, especially those with multiple levels of depth, such as plant leaves. Here we often hear that the wrong area is focused or the focus area is too flat. It is very easy to determine what should be in focus:

  • Open Camera.
  • Tap the object you want to focus on the screen.
  • You can adjust the exposure with the slider under the focus circle.

If it hasn’t brought the desired effect yet, you still have the secret weapon “Detail optimization” up your sleeves>

  • Open the Camera.
  • Tap the aspect ratio at the top of the menu (by default it says 3:4).
  • Select 3:4 108MP.
  • You now have a sensor icon at the bottom right. Tap on it.
  • When it glows amber, Detail Enhancement is enabled.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra’s screen is bigger but sometimes you want to watch a movie or show on a bigger screen. With this little feature, you can switch from S22 Ultra to Galaxy Tab S8. To do this:

  • Open Settings on both devices.
  • Enter Advanced features.
  • Enable Continue on other devices.
    • Currently, it is available for Samsung Internet and Samsung Notes.
  • On the tablet, tap the Recent Applications menu at the bottom left.
  • At the top, Continued from your phone will appear as a popup. tap it!

How to activate it?

You can easily enable the Intelligent Optimization feature by following the steps below.

  • Open the Camera app, then Settings.
  • Tap on Intelligent Optimization.
  • Choose the desired optimization level
    • Maximum
    • Medium: Speed up capture time by doing less optimization
    • Minimum: Take pictures as fast as possible by not optimizing pictures after they are taken.
  • Optionally, enable or disable the Scene Optimizer.

This feature allows for customization of photo attributes such as sharpness, contrast, and brightness. For example, selecting the minimum level results in more natural-looking images, while the maximum level increases detail and sharpness, which is ideal for zoomed-in shots. Notably, the quality optimization setting of these levels only affects Photo Mode.

If you enable Scene Optimizer, it automatically optimizes the color and contrast of pictures to make dark scenes look brighter, food looks tastier and landscapes look more vivid.
