5 ways to take screenshots on Samsung
Use button combinations
No matter which Samsung Galaxy phone you have, this method for taking a screenshot is the same, but it varies slightly depending on the model. Before you get one, you’ll need to locate the Power and Volume Down keys.
Typically, the volume keys are on the left and the power button is on the right. However, for some models, the positions of the keys may be reversed. Or, all the keys could be on the same side!
When you want to take a screenshot, just hold the Volume Down key and the Power key together. The screen will flash, indicating that a screenshot was captured.
Use Palm Swipe
On Samsung One UI 4.1, you can use a palm swipe to take a screenshot without even pressing a single button. To enable this method:
- Go to Settings of your phone.
- Select Palm swipe to capture.
- Tap the switch next to ‘Palm swipe to capture.
Now you’ll be able to take a screenshot just by swiping the edge of your hand across your phone’s screen.
Use Scroll capture
Is that webpage too long to capture in just one screenshot? Scroll Capture lets you take multiple screenshots of a page and then merge them all into one big screenshot. In this way, you get the complete picture.
To use it:
- Navigate to the screen you want to capture.
- To take the screenshot, press the Power key and Volume down key simultaneously.
- When the Smart capture menu appears, tap the Scroll capture icon – it looks like a downward arrow, and it will bounce up and down.
- Then, tap the icon a second time to begin the scroll capture process.
- Keep tapping the icon until it reaches the bottom of the page or your desired spot.
- When you are done, simply tap outside of the Smart capture menu bar.
Do note that the smart capture icon will not appear unless you are on a large web page, app screen, or image that requires scrolling. It may not work on certain websites. On newer phones, you cannot turn Smart capture off. It’s always enabled.
Use your voice
If you have Bixby Voice or Google Assistant set up, you can take a screenshot with a simple voice command. Say “Hey Bixby, take a screenshot,” and Bixby will capture what’s on your screen.
You can even string together complex commands and say “Hey Bixby, take a screenshot, and share on Twitter.”
Use S Pen
If you’ve always been using the S Pen with a compatible phone, why not take a screenshot of it too? The Screen Write feature of the S Pen makes it easy to take quick screenshots of whatever you are doing on the phone.
- Remove your S Pen from your phone
- Navigate to the screen you’d like to capture.
- With your S Pen, tap the Air command menu icon
- Then tap Screen write.
- Your phone will automatically take a screenshot of the page you’re on.
- Use the controls to write or draw on the screenshot if you’d like.
- When you’re done, tap the Save icon to store the screenshot in Gallery.

Here’s how to easily apply a screen protector to your Samsung Galaxy S25

Samsung Galaxy S25 series is now reaching customers who pre-ordered it. If you’ve just gotten your new phone, it’s important to protect its screen from scratches and damage. Attaching a screen protector to your Samsung Galaxy S25 is a simple and effective way to keep it safe and ensure long-lasting protection.
The package for the Samsung Galaxy S25 screen protector includes two protective films, an applicator, two dust removal stickers, an attachment guide, a microfiber cloth, and a squeegee.
You can easily apply a screen protector to your Galaxy S25 smartphone, just need to follow a few easy steps.
Step 1:
Start by removing the protective tape from the applicator. Fix your phone securely into the applicator and press firmly to keep it in place. Then, use the microfiber cloth to clean the screen thoroughly, removing any dirt or fingerprints.
Step 2:
Take one of the dust removal stickers and gently use it to eliminate any remaining dust or foreign substances from the screen. This will ensure the protector sticks properly without bubbles or imperfections.
Step 3:
Carefully peel the first protective film labeled 1 from its backing, located near the middle. Turn the film over and place it on the screen, securing it in the applicator’s groove. Be cautious not to touch the adhesive side. Align the camera hole with the top of the phone screen and press gently to fix it temporarily.
Step 4:
Once the protector is in place, use the squeegee to remove the blue protective tape, ensuring it sticks to the screen. Carefully remove the applicator by lifting the bottom part of the film and pulling the applicator down.
Step 5:
Repeat the process with the other part of the protective film for the lower part of the screen. Use the squeegee to push the film from left to right to ensure it is fixed securely.
Step 6:
Peel off the transparent protective film and wipe the screen with the microfiber cloth to remove any streaks. If a line appears in the center of the screen, don’t worry this will fade after a short period.

Go back to stability: Downgrading from One UI 7 Beta to stable One UI 6.1 on Galaxy S24 in the US

The One UI 7 beta program specifically rolled out for the Samsung Galaxy S24 series in the US, promised early access to new features and improvements. However, beta software often comes with some bugs, glitches, and performance issues which can lead to frustration.
Trying new software might seem fun initially, but it can get old fast if it makes your phone less reliable. Since we don’t know when One UI 7 will be stable, returning to One UI 6.1 is a smart choice for many.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to downgrade your Galaxy S24 from One UI 7 Beta back to One UI 6.1:
1. Backup Your Data:
- Before you start, ensure all your data is backed up. Use the Samsung Smart Switch on both your phone and a computer to save your photos, contacts, apps, and settings.
- Connect your phone to the computer via USB, open Smart Switch, and select ‘Backup’.
2. Withdraw from the Beta Program:
- Open the Samsung Members app on your phone.
- Look for the One UI Beta Program status in the settings or at the top of the app.
- Select “Withdraw” and follow the prompts. This step ensures you won’t receive further beta updates.
3. Use Smart Switch to Downgrade:
- After withdrawing from the beta, go back to Smart Switch on your computer.
- With your phone still connected, you should now see a “Downgrade” option. Click on it.
- Confirm the downgrade process by accepting the terms and conditions. Smart Switch will then download and install the stable One UI 6.1 firmware.
4. Reset Your Phone:
Note that this process will perform a factory reset. Once the downgrade is complete, your phone will reboot into recovery mode where you will need to select ‘Wipe data/factory reset‘ to finalize the process.
5. Restore Your Data:
After the reset, use Smart Switch again to restore your backed-up data to your phone.
Important:
This method is for Galaxy S24 users who enrolled in the beta via the Samsung Members app. If you manually flashed the beta (using methods like Odin), you might need to flash back to One UI 6.1 using the same tool.
Why go back to the stable version?
Going back to One UI 6.1 ensures you have a more reliable and smoother experience with your phone until Samsung rolls out the stable One UI 7 version. It is about returning to a version where everything just works fine, avoiding any bugs from beta software.

Here’s how to keep your Galaxy Watch 4/5/6 workout screen active

Many Samsung Galaxy Watch 4/5/6 series users have encountered an issue where the exercise screen doesn’t stay on during workouts, switching back to the watch screen. This issue is causing frustration among users, especially when users want to keep track of their progress in the middle of their workout.
Samsung has acknowledged the issue and shared that the root cause of this problem is in the notification settings for the Samsung Health app on your Galaxy Watch running Google Wear OS 5.0. With the Wear OS, Google has upgraded its notification policy, which is causing issues on Galaxy Watch 4/5/6.
When the notification setting for the Samsung Health app is Off, the watch screen switches to the home screen during workouts. The ‘Workout in progress’ icon does not appear at the bottom center of the screen due to the disabled setting.
Fortunately, this issue can be resolved by making sure that notifications for the Samsung Health app are enabled. For that, make sure your watch and phone are connected. Now, open the Galaxy Wearable app on your phone and go to Watch Settings >> go to Notifications >> select App notifications >> turn on Samsung Health.
To allow notifications on Samsung Watch Health, you just need to follow a few steps. From the watch home screen, swipe down and select the Settings icon. Now, Go to Apps >> select App List >> Select the Samsung Health app >> go to Permissions and make sure Notifications are allowed.
By following these steps, your exercise screen will stay on during your workouts to make it easier to track your progress.
