RAM is one of the most important elements of a smartphone and the makers are now extending it through software updates. After some Chinese OEMs, Samsung is here with its futuristic memory extension feature called RAM Plus (check compatible device list below).
Last year, the South Korean tech giant debuted the virtual RAM extension function that comes with up to 4GB of additional space to the smartphone. To be noted, the Galaxy A52s received the Samsung RAM Plus feature along with a new firmware update, which makes RAM expansion possible.
Shortly after the initial debut with Galaxy A52s, Samsung expanded the RAM Plus feature’s availability to more Galaxy consumers. Moreover, the company is now letting users customize the virtual RAM up to 8GB after upgrading to the One UI 4.1.

OPPO’s Memory Expansion Technology
Works as an auxiliary function, OPPO’s Memory Expansion Technology lets users temporarily convert part of their smartphone’s available read-only memory (ROM) to virtual RAM. Moreover, consumers will be given the freedom to adjust the volume of expansion, with three adjustment levels.
Users can enjoy enhanced performance for RAM-intensive games or photo and video editing mobile applications, and a smoother experience while running multiple mobile applications simultaneously thanks to virtual RAM Expansion.
T-Mobile releases May 2022 security update for Samsung Galaxy Note 20 in the US
Samsung is sending the May 2022 Android security patch update for the carrier-locked Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra smartphone customers in the US. Whereas, the carrier-unlocked models have already had their hand on the latest patch earlier this month itself.
Carrier-locked Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra May 2022 update comes with One UI build version N981USQS2FVE6 and N986USQS2FVE6 in the US, respectively. It is currently released for Sprint’s and T-Mobile’s network users and will soon be available for other customers.
Further, the fresh software update aims at improving the security and stability of your device. Additionally, it helps in preventing your phone from bugs and viruses to further boost the device’s performance and maintain users’ experience.
As per the new information, the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 May 2022 update comes with multiple privacy and security-related issues and exploits. However, the official support page mentions fixes for 7 Critical, 23 High, and 3 Moderate levels of CVEs from Samsung and Google.
As soon as your phone will get a new software update it will notify you. In case you have not received any notification or missed it, you can go to Settings >> Software update >> Download and install to check the update manually. Now follow the mentioned prompts to install it on your device.
Do note that this update procedure will not harm or move any of your data but do not forget to prepare a backup of your important files to just have extra safety measures. Also, do start downloading it when your phone has sufficient battery.
Samsung Galaxy S10 gets May 2022 security update in Brazil
Way back in February 2019, Samsung launched the Galaxy S10 flagships on the occasion of the 10th-anniversary of the Galaxy S-series. This range introduces various smartphones including the Galaxy S10e, Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and Galaxy S10 5G.
Pre-equipped with Android 9-based One UI 1.1, the Galaxy S10 series is eligible for at least three years of Android OS upgrades, courtesy of the new Samsung update policy 2020. Major updates aside, the entire Galaxy S10 series is also eligible for four years of regular security updates.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 getting May 2022 security update in Canada

Last August, Samsung launched its last Note lineup, the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. At the Unpacked event, the company announced that all the Galaxy flagships launched with Android 9 or later will get three years of Android upgrade support!
Debuted with Android 10-based One UI 2.5, the Galaxy Note 20 range entered the Android 11/One UI 3 beta trial last October. In December 2020, Samsung released the stable One UI version 3.0 via a software update, followed by One UI 3.1 in February 2021.
Although the Galaxy Note 20 series received its first Android OS upgrade in the form of Android 11, it is officially confirmed to get two more major updates up to Android 13. And Samsung also committed to delivering four years of regular security updates from the date of the device’s initial release.
