Samsung: The future of learning, awarded two Start-Ups from the C-Lab Inside Program

Samsung has the vision to shape the future with intelligence and new innovation. Samsung Electronics has announced to support of two new startups that have come from its incubation C-Lab program.

Samsung has chosen two new education technology digital learning program that is innovating in the field of learning and teaching. The two new startups that Samsung has selected are ‘Piloto’ which is an AI-driven parental control app, that helps and boosts the morale of kids to interact with technology safely. The second one is ‘Edlnt’, which is the AI-driven service that manages the online examination.

Piloto

‘Piloto’ is the companion that keeps the children safe online. It’s the AI-based training solution that uses the friendly AI character that helps to regulate the children’s screen usage and correct their poster while using the smart gadgets.

According to the research, 28.4% of children between the age of 3 and 9 are at high risk of smartphone addiction. This happens because the parents do not know how to teach the children about healthy smartphone habits.

This application helps the child to develop the ability to regulate their screen time and teaches them how to set their own usage time and goals, with the help of a language processing and conversation model.

It analyzes a child’s body position through a camera mounted on the smart gadget. The app also offers eye exercises that help in preventing neck pain or vision loss. The Application is going to release for the commons in the second half of 2022.

Edlnt

It’s an Artificial Intelligence-based test management service developed using object recognition technology and a motion recognition algorithm, that helps the organizer conduct the test with convenience.

This application also uses the camera for taking care of the exam environment, to match the guideline provided by the organizer. The test taker analyzes the real-time behavior and notifies the invigilator of the same.

The concept is truly fantastic, instead of relying on humans it’s a smart concept that reduces the operating cost, and in addition, provide a detailed report and full video of examines test period.

What is the C-Lab program?

Samsung C-Lab is an inside program that started in 2012, Samsung C-Lab was established to encourage Samsung employees to discover new ideas to expand the culture of productivity.

After 10 years of successful inception, the C-Lab has incubated 365 projects and engaged more than 1,500 Samsung employees. Over 59 projects took the flight as startups, which has created more than 500 jobs.

Last year it was selected for the implementing best practices for Fair Trade Agreement. Samsung is strengthening its efforts and has recently been selected as the best company for venture operations. In the coming days, Samsung is surely going to invest more in economic revitalization and job creation initiatives.

Galaxy C Series: Samsung eyes China where it has 0% market share

Samsung is eyeing the Chinese smartphone market to overcome 0% market share. The company has recently launched the Galaxy C55 5G in the country, which is a market-specific lineup.

Counterpoint Research’s recent report revealed that Samsung has a negligible market presence in China. While Huawei flagships are resurging in the country, Samsung come up with a mid-range phone with a different approach.

The Galaxy C55 5G is a rebranded variant of the M55 but features a distinct design. It has a leather back and is available in two vibrant colors, with the presence of some pro-grade features making it stand apart.

The Chinese smartphone market was dominated by Vivo (17.4%), Honor (16.1%), Apple (15.7%), Huawei (15.5%), Oppo (15.3%), and Xiaomi (14.6%) in Q1 2024, as per Counterpoint Research.

Samsung failed to overcome the 0% market share in China since 2018. The company had a 20-30% share until 2013, which started to drop in 2014 due to the emergence of local vendors including Huawei, Oppo, and Vivo.

While Samsung faces a lot of challenges in emerging in the world’s largest smartphone market, Chinese vendors continue to create hurdles for it in the Global market, giving it a double headache.

Samsung MultiStar update introduces One UI 6.1 Maintain Split mode, more

Samsung MultiStar Good Lock module is getting a new update with version 7.1.33. The new update brings new features and improvements for Galaxy tablets and foldables to enhance the multitasking experience.

The new update of the Samsung MultiStar app adds the ‘Maintain Split Mode’ function, which is available for devices with One UI 6.1 or later. This feature allows users to keep their screen view active even after closing and reopening apps to enhance productivity on large screens.

Moreover, the update enhances the visibility of the navigation bar, making it easier for users to move through their devices. It also fixes an issue where settings would not reset after app data was deleted.

This update is compatible with devices that operate on One UI 6.0 or One UI 6.1. Users of eligible devices just need to download a 16.14MB package to install the update via the Galaxy Store. Also, they can get it directly from the third-party app source link mentioned here.

One UI 6.1 update for Galaxy S21 series, Z Flip 3, and Fold 3 to release next week

Samsung is reportedly preparing to release One UI 6.1 update to the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and Galaxy Z Fold 3. The update began rolling out to nine Galaxy devices in late March and will soon be available to other older devices.

A Canadian network carrier, Fido has recently updated its update schedule for some Galaxy devices. A new software update will be available for the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and Galaxy Z Fold 3 smartphones on May 3 in Canada. This update will include the April 2024 security patch and is expected to release much-awaited One UI 6.1 features.

Samsung Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Flip 4, and Galaxy Z Flip 4 smartphones will also get a new software update on May 03 in Canada. While Samsung announced the release of the One UI 6.1 update for the above models in early May the company has not yet confirmed whether the Galaxy S21 series, Z Flip 3, and Fold 3 will be included in this update.

Users of these devices may need to wait for further announcements to know if they will receive the new features and enhancements that One UI 6.1 offers on May 3, 2024.

One UI 6.1 update to introduce some advanced AI features to these devices including Circle to Search and Live translation. Owners of the Galaxy S21 series, Z Flip 3, and Fold 3 should look forward to these enhancements, which will bring their devices up to date with the latest Samsung technology.
