Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 to not come with body temperature measurement
Next-generation Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 is under development and will come to market in the second half of this year. Various leaks and rumors spread around the internet while the latest one claims that the upcoming Galaxy Wearable will not come with a body temperature measurement feature.
According to tipster Ming-Chi Kuo, the Korean tech giant is facing some challenges while implementing the new feature in its next-gen smartwatch and the analyst believes that the company might ditch this feature in this year’s model.

The tipster further explains that the reason Samsung does not bring in the measuring body temperature feature to the smartwatch is the difficulty of not getting the temperature measurement correctly on the wrist.

Samsung is facing this challenge as well. Unlike previous media reports, I think Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 in 2H22 might not support the body temperature measurement due to algorithm limitations.— 郭明錤 (Ming-Chi Kuo) (@mingchikuo) May 1, 2022
This seems a valid reason because the temperature of our arms is affected by many types of external factors such as extremely cold weather or exposure to direct sunlight, which can result in inaccurate readings.
So bringing this feature to the watch would require a special algorithm rather than just the hardware, which is where Samsung faces a major challenge.
