Samsung DDR5 DRAM

Samsung recently told that it has recorded 77.78 trillion won in revenue and 14.12 trillion won in operating profits during the first quarter of 2022, despite it has an increase of 19 percent in revenue and 50 percent in operating profits.

Samsung has totally opposed the rumors that it is to skip the development of 1b DRAM and directly jump for the production of 1c DRAM. Samsung told that the rumor is completely false and there is no problem with the pre-decided timeline.

Samsung has also refused the rumor that they are facing a problem with the yielding rate of processing nodes in their semiconductor foundry. Samsung said that the yielding rate of 5nm nodes is at maturity and will soon expand to its foundry service.

What is 1b DRAM?

1b DRAM refers to the gate width of 12nm. Some popular blogs have spread the rumor that Samsung is facing an issue in the developing 1b and is straight away jumping to the next generation 1c DRAM.

Node advancement is a Micron pioneered nanomanufacturing process that combines computational lithography and multiple patterning to circumvent inherent lithographic limitations and deliver the world’s best nodes. The more advanced node has more improved memory density.

The market is overblown said Samsung, because the current customer demand is higher than the current capacity, and rejected that Qualcomm is moving with TSMC. It’s going to continue with us. Further, it said that the company is developing more advanced nodes in the coming days, and orders are also going to increase.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 US model packs Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5

The US variant of Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 will be equipped with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor. There were reports that Samsung may expand the Exynos chipset to its foldable lineup, which doesn’t seem to be happening, at least in the United States.

Recently, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 US variant was spotted on Geekbench with Snapdragon chip. It isn’t surprising as the company is following its conventional chipset strategy. We expect that it will be the same chipset used in the Galaxy S24 Ultra, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy.

The Flip 6 smartphone scored 15084 points on Geekbench’s GPU test. Due to its foldable form factor, the device may miss a Galaxy S24-like larger cooling technology. Still, its impressive 15000+ points in the GPU test indicates that Samsung has greatly optimized the software.

The company still has three months remaining in the launch event. More performance improvements will likely be achieved before the Unpacked. The South Korean tech giant will likely unveil the next-gen foldable phones in mid-July.

This year, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra would join the standard Galaxy Z Fold 6 and the Galaxy Z Flip 6. In addition, an affordable variant of Fan Edition branding is also in development. However, the cheaper foldable would miss some pro-grade specs to maintain the price.
