Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 with 12GB RAM, S23 Ultra processor spotted

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 6 April 2024 plugins

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy and 12GB RAM surfaced. In a strange development, Samsung was spotted testing its next Flip phone with the chip used in the S23 Ultra last year as well as a huge boost in random access memory.

The latest Geekbench listing of Samsung SM-F741U hints that Galaxy Z Flip 6 might use Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chip and 12GB of RAM. Earlier, the same model number was benchmarked featuring Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.

Well, it’s the first time the company is planning a 12GB model of its clamshell foldable. It aligns with the rumors that the Exynos chip may expand to Samsung’s foldable lineup. Therefore, the US variant might use the last year’s Snapdragon chip rather than the latest Exynos.

Qualcomm is regularly increasing the prices of mobile platforms. With the Galaxy S23 series, Samsung faced a lot of challenges including higher pricing of Snapdragon chips for Galaxy. Hence, utilization of Exynos in flagship Galaxies would help it maintain the costs.

The launch is expected to happen in July 2024, therefore, it’s early to determine which SoC will be used. It should be noted that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy-powered S24 Ultra received all the AI features available in the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

This way, the next Flip phone with 12GB RAM but last year’s SoC wouldn’t be a bad deal. Pay attention, the fresh Flip 6 listing shows Android 14 OS, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy chip that scored 1,794 points in the single-core test and 4,486 points in the multi-core test.
